I need the org's help in deciding wut brand of amp to buy. I have 1 xplod 12 and i need a new amp. I dont need like 1000watts or anything like that. i have a 250 watt amp on it now that is messing up so im looking to buy a new one. A friend is selling a pioneer 800watt amp for 75 and i found a lightning audio F&F 450Watt amp for $45. is the lightning audio a good buy or a bust? Also, wut r the GOOD brands in amplifiers. I appreciate everyone's help and info

Pioneer amps are junk!!!! I have never had one last longer that 2 months. Lighting audio is not bad. If you want a good cheap amp try profile.

im going to recomend you give us more info about these amps your looking at, plus more info on your sub.

also, are you planning on amping the rest of the speakers?

this is stuff you need to consider rather than what brand of amp you are going to buy.

branding doesnt mean anything.

i have a RockBox amp, which is apparantly made by Mobile Authority (i think). the only reason i picked this up is because thats all the place i was buying my audio stuff had at the moment (clearance outlet).

anyways, you need to match your sub to your amp, and vice versa if you already have the sub. if you have a DVC sub, i would recomend a 2 or 4 channel amp. if it is a SVC i would recomend a 2/1 or a mono amp. if you plan on amping the front (amping the rears is a waste, just yank them out) speakers plus the sub, a 2/1 channel amp, that is a 2 chan that can be bridged would be best. if its a DVC sub and your amping the fronts, a 4 channel amp works best.

im running a DVC sub to 2 of the channels on my 4 channel amp, the other 2 are running the front speakers.

if you do want to amp all of your 4 speakers for some strange reason, get 2 amps, or if you can find a 6 channel amp. match your new amp to best suit your sub, not what brand is better.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

i have an xplod 12, but i dont know if it is a dvc or svc, i bought it off a friend new last yr but i didnt know i needed all that. i just got it hooked up at a shop. i just bought a new audiovox 2 channel amp. i dont plan on amping the speakers, i just wanna change the fronts out so i can hear better out of them. they r alpines, but they suck, and i got pyle 6x9's in the rear, they r louder than the fronts, so im not taken em out.
