i have a 2001 2.4, and im going to be putting in, 2 12inch kicker CVR's with a KX 600.1 mono amp. now the other day i was at work and i shut off my car and left the lights on. when i came back out to go home, which was about 10 minutes later, my battery was dead.... now im worried about if i puts that system in, will i burn out my altinator or should i be fine? i firgures, if i upgrade my battery to a yellow top i should be fine.... but my dad say its the altinator i should upgrade..... what should i do??
And also im installing ground lights too.....
The battery only gets drained when the car is off, while it's running your amp will take it's power from the battery. Sounds like your battery is almost done or there's a problem with your alternator. Get one or both tested (auto zone tests them for free).

when the car is on the power is being recieved from the alternator. your system will only drain power from your battery if the alt cannot keep up. with that sized amp you should be fine with the stock alternator im runnint the same power without issues and there are a few guys here running over 1000 wattts on the stock setup. i would suggest a new battery since you drained your current battery it is now going to only have about half the power it did. yellow tops are great batteries ive been running them for years but there are also so other just as good batteries out there as well.
