Okay here it is. I placed a post in the newbies section since I am a newbie. No one there could help me with wha I ahve going on. Except letting me know something that I already know. I have a Pioneer super tuner IIID that I want to install into my '05. I ran an extra length of some remote wire that I had laying around to the fuse block for my amps. That made the Pioneer turn on. This was just the test to see if I had the right wires. Then when I tried to group the wire to the HU with a splice it no longer worked. WTF?, is all I could say. I am thinking that I may have fried the remote wire and no getting some new wire to run from the HU to the fuse box. Can someone tell me if this is wrong or will it work with out problems. Now this is how my amps are wired as well.
If your using a harness u connect all teh wires color to color.. and then u run your accesory (the red wire) to the fuse pannel if tahts where u want to get ur accesory from. All the remote wire does is send 12v out when the deck is turned on and that goes to your amps. Not sure if im just misunderstanding u
That is more help then what I got in the Newbies section. Just people telling me things I already know. I do know a little bit about electricity, but that is for houses, not cars. Different ball game there for me. So the remote wire to the fuse panel should work then, if I did not fry anything by running the wire to the fuse block for my amps.
u COULD run remote wire from your fuse panel to ur amps.. but y do that if u have a remote wire off the deck? The remote wire is the blue one with a white stripe. not sure if ur confusing the remote and accesory wires when ur typing...
The wires for the amps are not the problem. The problem is getting power to the head unit. Once I have power to the head unit then everything will be fine. Just having trouble with that. But you know what I will figure it out myself. Forget it.
I didn't mean to come off as a know it all jerk or anything.. hope it works out for u

calm down bro. if you're trying to get power to the deck, you're calling a wire by the wrong name, and thats why people are misunderstanding you.
the remote wire is the blue wire coming off your deck for your amplifier.
the power wires are typically red (12v constant) and yellow (ignition)
the red wire hooks up to the factory harness no problem.
they yellow wire (ignition) has nothing to hook up to in the factory harness so you have to run it elsewhere. most people run their ignition wire to the wiper fuse or the turn signal fuse. both of these fuse are only hot/on when the ignition is in the on position.
try that out and it should work.
GO PATS!!!
ahh hate to correct u but Yellow is constant and red is switched.. and blue/white is remote..
Duy Tang is correct. But no one in here understands what I am talking about. Take the amps out of the question. The remote wire that I am refering to is an extra piece that I had lieing around. I am using that to run from the back of the deck to the fuse box. And sorry the attitude, just got rather frustrated. But I got it to work. Just have to upgrade all of the speakers, just to much power from the deck to the amps for the speakers to handle. I do not know what I am going to upgrade to but I will figure that out soon enough. So for now I have the stock deck back in until I can get the speakers that I want.
so what does this remote wire do? it runs from your deck to your fuse box, like following the same path as your acc wire? i really just want to understand what you're using a remote wire for if it's not connecting to something that you want to turn on when your radio turns on. not trying to sound like a dick, just curious.
i think he's using a left over length of wire that was previously used as a remote wire to run to his fuse box for the ignition wire...
...idk, as long as he figured it out...whatever.
GO PATS!!!
Okay, the remote wire normally carries a 12V current. Any fuse in the fuse box holds that as well, but the fuse only lets a certain amount of that charge out. The head unit needs a 12V current to turn on, the fuse panel only gets power when the key is turned on or in the acc position. There fore, taking an extra piece of remote wire that is just sitting around the house collecting dust in a garage, why not put it to use. Splice it to the ignition switched 12V+ (this is the red wire on the back of the head unit), after spliced into this wire, run it to your fuse panel to a fuse inside that panel, like for instance your ignition fuse. This is what I did to power up the head unit. Too bad for me though, between the head unit and the amps, my speakers can not take it. The front speakers on the other hand, once the Pioneer head unit was connected, the drivers front speaker did not work, so the front speakers would have to be amp'ed, other wise you need the $100 dollar adaptor. DAMN CHIMES! My front speakers were not made to be ran through an amp, it would blow them, my rear speakers, they would have blowen quickly, they would not have handeled the power from the head unit and amp. My subs took the higher power like some champs though, they sounded better with the higher power. I am now looking into getting 2 sets of the Focal 165A (1set for the front doors, and anouther for the rear doors, the the 6X9's I am still up in the air about. All though, I have boiled that done to either Focal, or JBL. I do not know yet, but I will let everyone here know when I make the purchase. But that wont be really soon. I leave in Sep, and between then and now, I have to get my exhaust done, and pay for my daughters private school. I think my ex thinks that I amde of money or something, she is loony.
Well I got it all wired up and connected. Only prob is that I now have no drivers frint speaker. I know that is where the chimes came from (not no more though). I am taking it that the speakers need to be amped or something. These speakers can not handle an amp. Now this is not a problem at all, since I plan on replacing all the speakers and amps yet again.
the speakers don't need to be amped. sounds like you just didn't hook it up right.
GO PATS!!!
You wired something incorretly in the harness for that speaker or you have a loose connection somewhere. Check your wiring. Also the speaker does not need to be amp'ed off a replaced HU.
All the connections are tight, nothing loose, all wires are wired to same colored wires. So nothing is crossed. But something must be wrong, I know that can not be right. I will dig into it and figure it out. Just not tonight, it has been a long day already. With my luck I did not check the connection adequetly enough.
what harness did u use? there are a few that will fit but the wires will be in the wrong spots
The harness was for an '05 General Motors. But it is not a problem though. I am leaving the country for at least 6 months in September and when I get back I am putting in more and better speakers. The speakers I have right now pretty much suck a$$.
should have used a harness for a chevy/geo tracker. its a plug and play.
GO PATS!!!
I'm pretty sure its a 71-2003 from Metra.. I'ms assuming u have stock speakers? they should sound fine for the time being. I haven't had music in my car for over a year lol so thats y im encouraging u to get it all done.
Nope, none of the speakers are stock, I blew those on purpose for a reason to buy new speakers.
