Tach Problem
Monday, May 29, 2006 4:38 PM
Hello, I have a 1999 Cavalier w/ 2200. I want to add a aftermarket tachometer. Now i have a ractive tachometer modle # G1000 and ive hooked it up tgo the same power supply as my aftermaket stereo, red to red, black to black, yellow to yellow and put it on the 4th cylinder setting. I bought a sunpro tach adapter model # cp7558. I hooked thr green wire to the green wire on the tach, then the black wire to the orange icm wire and the red wire to the white icm wire. ok the tack background lites up and you can set up when you want the shift lite to come on but when the car is running the neddle dosent move.... so i thought i would call sunpro just to make sure i hooked it up right and it was. and the guy said if i thought the adapter was defective he said bypass the adapter and you should get half the reading i did that and notting happened ... so i started to think maybe its the tach itself that is defective.... so i pulled it out and took that one back as defective and got a new one and no luck... So ive been trying to make it work for the last couple of days and it pissing me off. So if someone has a idea or ran into this problem let me know. thanks for reading my post thanks chris
