As it says i am looking into getting new door speakers cuz mine are blown and i was thinking into the type r's.

alpine cda 9831 hu
rockford p3001 amp
12" alpine type R 2 ohm
what i have for an extra amp
a small jensen amp to use until i get a new one for the speakers.
I was wondering is there a good set of cheap component speakers or door speakers that i wouldnt have to spend a fortuane on?
I was looking into the type R 6.5's for my doors cuz i am going to have the car for another 2 years at least.
help me out.
haha. i just bought a set of PB-BK5 5.25 inch speakers. there made by Powerbase. i picked them up for 37 bucks shipped. there on a blowout deal right now on ebay. the company i bought from told me about em. and thats why i bought thm.
Ebay Speakers just click on the link and go through there store. they have maybe 5 or so left. not sure tho. hope this helps
OR you could get something quality that will sound good and last long, as far as 150 or less, witch is about as low as i would go on a comp set, since Cadence is out of their overstocked CWM's I would say go to woofersetc.com and grab a set of 6.5 inch CDT Classics with the free shipping for 140, you can NOT beat that deal for the sound and quality and value. Type-Rs are alright comps, overpriced for the sound u get.. the CDTs will blow them out of the water!

-I would not agree with you 100 % on this. Type R's ,may not be as good, but they are still fantastic speakers. I would say Type R's compete with my CL-62i's quite well. ( I am going to the HD-62 US GOLD's next year as well. ( Yes I am a die-hard fanatic of CDT.)

My "go with something quality" statement was directed twords the one telling him to go to e bay and spend 37 bucks on some far less than sub par speakers, the Type-Rs are very warm and forgiving smooth speakers, but for their cost, Ill take CDT every day of the week and twice on Sunday!

i have 5.25 audiobahns and i would say they sound damn could for the price the have a removable tweeter and a built in crossover for only $50$ bucks i think they rock im going to buy some 6x9s for the rear from audiobahn

hey whatever flaots ur boat man, what sounds good to your ears is all that matters... bad will sound good untill u hear better.... how many times have i used that phrase here and on other audio forums? seriously now lol. i live by that.. hop in a car with some nice CDT or Rainbow comps up front, amped and aimed properly, a nice sub(s) set up to pickup the low end and all mixed well together, you will hate your coaxials and rear speakers i promise

Focal FTW IMO.
Only reason I wont have any is cause they won't go with my Type R system but I'm debating breaking that and gettin some. O and the other reason is price. Kinda pricy.

brand matching is one of the stupidest reasons to chose audio equipment...right along with looks... get ur shlt based on what YOUR EARS like... auditioning them at local shops will be a very beneficial thing

I've never even heard of DYN or Morel or DLS, less rainbow or CDT, thats how bad it is.
I think our entire city carries only Kicker, Alpine, Focal, Dual, Panasonic, Sony, JL, and Rockford Fosgate.
It sucks.

damn dude that sucks, sounds like Focal and JL and Type-R's and Type-X comps are your only higher end options with those specific choices.... You can always go online for better prices, but I like being abel to HEAR my options and THEN going online to purchase.. such isnt a comodity for say Rainbows or Morel, and Dyn's higher end stuff (im talking 5-10k $$ set of comps), they are only available at their authorized dealers. witch ends up being a great thing for the shop owners, not losing business to online retailers, because the shops have to meet a certain price criteria on most of heir products, dyn and rainbow in particular are very strict about how much their products can be sold for, so the shop owners realy dont have as much control over the slightly higher prices they need to charge.. but im getting slightly off topic here, i could rant about car audio for hours, we should just have a "ask me something, im bored" thread opened for anyone to ask anything and then have anyone that feels like talking about that particular question answer it... just my personal opinion cuz i sit behind a computer 32-45 hours a week and this helps pass the time

Late, my schedule right now is 10-6:30 working for Dell, then i usualy practice with the band till 9 or 10, espexcialy with a sold out show coming up friday night...and then setting up a 5 week tour starting aurgust 18th, going down to FL and back... im usualy on AIM llike 10 or so at night till usualy like 2 am if u need to get ahold of me on there thats the best time

I would personally suggest Infinity, JBL, or Boston.
i would personally sugest whatever sounds good to the buyers ears. especially if the stereo is jsut for everyday driving. thats my opinion.
