I want to upgrade to power door locks on my 96 Sunfire . What parts do I need to make this happen? I plan on pulling the parts from the junk yard so I also need to know if the power locks are year specific. Any help will be appreciated
Bumpity bump bump, only cuz i wanna know too.
You gonna need the locks of coarse, the switchs, the harness, etc. Do a search, i know its been discussed before.
Just spend the cash and get a spal power lock kit. they usually are on ebay cheap enough. they are the pistol lock so there is no switch to install. it hides away nicely.
i had a basic alarm system and power door locks put on mine at a local stereo shop for very cheap, less than $300. before you do any part-pulling, you might just wanna get an estimate for this route. not only do you get power locks, but also keyless entry and an alarm.

You could just get a keyless entry kit, like Vincent said. It would include the module, actuators, switches and wiring directions. Basically you attach the actuator to the cable lock inside the door, then wire it up to the module, for each door. So a 4-door you have to remove 4 door panels, and run the wires through the boot and up to the module. The kit is usually the better and usually cheaper way to go, and you get EVERYTHING you need as well.
