CD's will soon be obsolete!!!
Sunday, July 16, 2006 2:43 AM
I just bought a car stereo with a USB port right in the front...no more CD's! I just plug in my Flash Drive and I'm good to go. There are only a few manufacturers that offer the USB port right now, but that will soon change. It will soon be a standard feature. CD's and CD changers take up too much space...Flash Drives hold way more songs and take up almost no space! Now your music can go straight from your PC to your car. Several weeks ago, for the first time in history, digital music downloads outsold conventional CD sales. This is a trend that is expected to continue. Wherehouse filed for bankruptcy a couple of years ago, and they have closed 30 stores...Tower Records recently filed for bankruptcy. CD sales have plumeted, but digital download sales have skyrocketed. Join the digital revolution!

There will always be people who will buy cds. Just like there will always be people that buy vinyl. The people who want their music to sound good. A lot of the nuances in music are lost when the song is compressed, so audiophiles will always buy music in the least compressed format. If I want a song just to listen to on the computer or iPod, sure I'll download it, but if I'm going to pay for the song I always buy a CD.

That is a pretty badass idea, since CD's to take up a @!#$ton of space and you always have to dig through them to find which one you want.. instead you just put the songs on a flash drive and plug it in and go, I like that alot.. although I don't see myself actually doing it.

loss of sound quality isnt going to make it worth it for me, sorry. i highly doubt any large music outlets like tower are going out of business due to UBS ports on stereo's.... mp3 will ALWAYS be an obsolete form of music in the sound quality department... and CDs take up too much room? wow...you either got way too much other shlt in your car or are a complete psycho about not having ANYTHING around you or something cuz a case full of cds never took up too much room to me, hell, it fits right under the seat, where, if u keep ur shlt clean, isnt a spot that should already have something... but anywho.... im going to have to disagree with you sir that MP3 is going to completely toss CD's, just not gunna happen. Besse hit the nail on the head.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
