I have the a2300hct audiobahn amp, 2400 watts rms at 1 ohm, the biggest the amp will accept is 4 gauge, which i am currently running all the way back, should i go 1 or 0 gauge back to the amp, then use a dis. block to break it down to 4 awg, what should i do?
Does this amp have the screw downs on the side or the lock nuts?
You can run a larger gauge with crimpless ring terminals. They will fit then, however, you gonna need a longer screw to hold these in place?
If you only have that one amp I'd stay with 4ga. It doesn't matter how much wattage your amp gives, what matters is the amperage/current it pulls from the battery. What kind of fuse do you have on the power cable?and how many amps is it?
4 guage isnt big enough if its truely 2400watts RMS bause doesnt that mean its pulling something like 166 amps...which is more like the job for a 2 guage wire?? (2400/14.4=166.66666) ... 4 guage is only for up to 125amps~ or something like that...so unless the amps 2400 is MAX audiobaun did a bad job sizing the terminals...

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
It is the a2300hct, the one shown
here, it has the style fuse that has to bolts that hold it down, and its a 250amp fuse, I have read that, that fuse is to big, what does it do when i put a smaller fuse on it, will it run cooler, be louder? But currently I have the amp running on stereo with each channel running 1 ohm, it states 1200watts rms each channel at one ohm.
I would use 2 Ga. on that amp or bigger.
I'm not sure if I can get 2 gauge to fit? Should I get a distrubition block?
