Getting ideas for system, help :)

Ok well I wanna stick with ED for the most part so heres what i got so far:

2 16Kv.2 subs powered by Elemental Designs Nine.1 amp $135 x2 + #350 = $620+tax

6x9s are out

for components ill use wat JL recommended and get some CDT Audio EF-61 - CDT Audio EuroFit 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers $200

Then this amp for the components http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3176 $200

For the HU http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VXjG1Mo4q39/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?wm=fp&I=130DEHP680&g=300$220

Box from soundsthatpound.com like $150ish

So that brings me up to $1390+tax and what not, then ill need wireing and junk, dont know where to get those any suggestions?

But ya how does that sound? Am i missing anything? Suggestions/tips are always appreciated.

a single 13K.v2 in a ported box tuned to 30hz will give you just what you want out of a sub and that sub with the forum discount is only like $75 I think?

Thats for the 13kv, i dont konw what it is for the 16kv, or if there even is a discount for that one.

you can go to pretty much any audio store and get the wiring.

however if u want the highest strand count (higher strand makes for much more flexible wire), and a VERY good price on it, knukonceptz.com will be the way to go... no local store is going to be as cheap as them...they're going to try and sell a name, saying Stinger and RF wire is higher quality or some crap like that

JL if you come back on this thread can you tell me what(if any) discount this forum gets on the 16kv's? Or maybe direct me to a site that shows the discounts?

Ok cool ty, that lowers my overall cost by about $125, cant complain bout that but wasn't there some coupon for free shippping? like freeship or something to that effect?

back when Cadence was selling their CWM-6Kit directly from the factory freeship was the coupon code, havent heard of eD having that... Im pretty sure if they got free shipping on anything it would be stated right on that page.

Shawn, if you have some free time today, give me a call at the shop. 641.792.2501.

I would like to walk you through a few things, on some discount and deals that we can do for you. We can offer a really good package deal on the items. Possibly a little better than you think.

Ok Alex told me they made components (didn't even know that ) so, going with his suggestion Ill get there 6500's and a nine.2 for those, less money = good So lets go through this again:

2- 16kv.2's = $180 + shipping/tax
1 Nine.1 = $315 shipped
1 Nine.2 = $175 shipped
6500's = $185 + Shipping
Head Unit = (too bad ED doesn't make HU's lol) probably still get the Pioneer DEH-P6800MP for $220ish + tax/shipping etc.

Sound deadener/wireing/misc = ?? How much Sound Deadener do i need for my trunk and door panels. Also on kind of a side note, where all SHOULD i use SD? Im not about to go pull up my floor and roof to put it in, so would the trunk/door panels be ok? and for wireing i dont know what i need, can someone point me in the right direction on this issue lol. So roughly my cost should be somewhere around $1100-1300 id say is a fair bet. Still bout $300 less overall then what i thought it was gunna cost I wish my friend knew bout this site and you guys lol. He just spent $600 on a HU i found on www.crutchfield.com for alot less, like $300 less :S, and he got 1 10" sub for almost double what these 2 16kv.2's will run me. Its a nice system, but hes spent around $1500 on his system all together and he didn't even replace his speakers yet :S Its not my place to go and tell him he got ripped off but still. Anywho, im glad i found this site before i went and spent my money lol.

With the discounts available, and wanting to use a nine.1, I would suggest a pair of 16ov2 D4's.

We are no longer producing the 16kv2s and we only have dual 2 in stock, which means you can run 2 at 2 ohm. The nine.1 will put out 900 watts at 2 ohm. Not its full potential. The 16ov2s at 1 ohm will get 1200 watts +. The nine.1 is rated at 1200 watts @ 12.5 volts. With the amp being underrated and running at 14.4 volts. We have had people pushin 1400-1500 watts all day long.

As for sound deadner we have the edead products, Before I worked for the company, I used 1 gallon of V3 liquid, and did the trunk and most the door panels. General rule of thumb is 1 gallon of liquid = about 50sq ft. and to do a whole vehicle our cars size about 100-120 sq ft. Thats everything.

If you want to use a nine.1 and nine.2 I would suggest a 0 awg kit.

Also remember that on a stock alternator doing your big 3 might be a good idea aswell.

With crutchfield you also get the wiring harness for your cd player, thats a nice extra.

Hope that helped a little.

Alex

Arg im so confused, ok so your saying i should get 2 16Ov.2 D4's, I dont know much about electronics, so what are you suggesting i use to run 2 of those?

Re: Getting ideas for system, help :)

a Nine.1 for a pair of those is what he is saying would be a good idea...and if you might want more than one sound deadening option check out Secondskinaudio.com ALL their mats are butyl based... not bashing eD by any means here Alex, just presenting more options

Ok ty JL, well seems im back where i started price wise lol thought i was gunna save a few bucks now im +$150ish bucks for the added cost of the Ov's rather than hte Kv's Oh well no biggie, solong as it sounds awsome lol
Re: Getting ideas for system, help :)

Ov2s are like the big brother of Kv2's. You will (or would if you had them) notice a difference between Kv's and Ov's. Not that Kv2's are bad, just Ov2's are different.

ALL our mats have been butyl based with a non asphalt filler for a few months now, and the SE^2, our thicker stuff has been butyl since january of this year.

We are developing some new stuff aswell, very thick.

secondskin makes a great product.

we offer the forum discount on of V1 for 80cent a foot and V1se^2 for $1.28 a sq foot.
