So how EXACTLY in detail do I get the wires fo rthe kit either fused, or from a power source?
Thanks, and rememb er I don't know jack @!#$ about wiring, so you have to tell me where/how etc.
Hehe I was drunk when I typed that and you can tell... haha sad.
Anyway windows. People keep saying: Straight from battery - To fuse holder - inside cab- to switches.
So would I just run a regular wire from the red battery terminal to the fuse holder with another wire comming out into the cab? Also how do I get the damn wire IN the cab. I took a quick peak and everything is too tight to see around
I have no clue how you guys managed to wire this
First off, it's not the smartest idea to run it straight from the battery, it's probably better to tap in to a 12v constant somewhere. To get the wire into the cab: There's a big grommet (rubber plug-type thing) on the driver's side. You can see it if you look under the dash (there's a huge wiring harness running through it). Take a piece of stiff wire and poke it through the grommet into the engine bay. Use electrical tape to attach the wire you need in the cab to this wire, then pull it through the cab, and voila, your wire is in the cab. Take all the necessary steps to hide the wiring and whatnot, then just connect everything like normal. Hope that helps.
I read another thing on an F150 that I can find the ignition wire and what not. Strip back the insulation, solder my power wire to this tape it up and be good to go? Where should I go with a ground in a situation like this? Also what colorwire/where should I tap it from? Will it still be good fuse wise? Ie no fires or overloading?
Ignition wires are typically red, however that's only a switched lead ie, only hot when the ignition is on. If you want is hot constant, the yellow wire is typically 12v constant. use a voltmeter to test that. As for how you're connecting it, soldering is the best way to go, however I would use heat shrink around the wire (cut it and slip it over one side, then solder the three loose ends together) As for fuses, you're more than likely safe, but I would go buy another block from AutoZone or whatnot. $4 and some change is worth the extra security.
theres already a fuse in the fuse panel for power windows even if you dont have them installed its there.. just tap there..

How do i "tap it"
Alos where would it be/called? Or is it just an open/empty slot. I see nothing on the fuse thingy that said P/w or antyhing to that nature.
Also what color would be for the headlights so I can get my Illumination working? Or can I just go straight in with the power for the actual windows? I don't care if they are on when the car is, as long as they are not on always.
Is there no edit button?
With the motors(this is a spal kit!!!) do I just connect the red wire to red, and black to green on the switch harness?
color match wires, unplug fuse put wire in push fuse in, or go to walmart, advance.autozone, and get fuse taps... up to you...

I'm sorry but that's one of the funniest things I've ever read.
Buying a fuse tap is the easiest, cleanest, and least ghetto way to do it IMO.
Eff it dood. Once I figure out how to remove the panel covering the hood release so i can get to the wiring I'm just going ghetto with it. As long as it works I'm happy. I almost said @!#$ it when I was screwing with those screws for the brackets. They were pissing me off!
So we're saying yellow wire for power? Where should I splice it? Right where the hood release handle is?
Thanks.
Oh and did anyone actually go THROUGH that little rubber hose between the body and door? I just went beside and electrical taped it. I can't figure out how to get it though very well, I guess Just clothes hanger? Also where should I ground this thing at?
cant say havent installed power windows.. only goin by my locks which were spal...
and the fuse isnt under the hood... its under the fuse cover on driver side dash...

Ok, guys, I need to know which color wire to get power from, and where to go for the wire. Thanks. 2001 caviler.
