If your car audio illiterate take it to the professionals. Lots of people @!#$ up when they don't know what they are doing. Just get it done right the first time for a small fee instead of having to pay pockets full of money to fix a little mistake you did not knowing what you were doing.
I agree w. Jason on this. If you have no idea what you are doing, OEM intergration can be tricky. Lots of extra wires to find. But on a better note, PAC does make some very nice interfaces.

Ban low-performance cars, not high-performance ones.
for a full audio system to be done by a pro. is $200. thats HU, wireing harrnes, speakers, amp, and the box .. is that PAC system worth the time , could i get something like that at a audio store ?

200 sounds really low for all that stuff. I paid more than 200 for my headunit alone.
If you are looking for a system that is all amped then ya, you could go with that thing from pac.
If you wanted to just run the stock headunit power for the speakers and an amp for a sub then you would need a high to low convertor, and that would be if you wanted to run the stock headunit.
But then, you were talkin about getting a new headunit and most headunits come with a preout for subs.
I guess what we need to know is what you want. Like do you want new speakers, stock headunit and a sub... or do you want new headunit, new speakers, sub, and an amp for the speakers or...what?
Let us know and then we can better help you.

I say just get it done by the pro for 200 dollars. The aftermarket HUs are so much more powerful then stock and most of them now a days are setup for multiple amps. (Front speaker amp, rear speaker amp, subwoofer amp). Some are even compatable with satallite radio and most of them now also can be hooked upto an ipod, dvd player, cd changer (anything with audio rca's).
Personally I think you are way better off down the road going with an aftermarket unit and getting it installed by a professional. It leaves you options down the road for upgrading
. You want high end speakers which require seperate amplifiers to power them, the aftermarket units got the outputs for that
. You want satallite radio, just plug it in and your good to go. Subs will have there own frequency (better quality) so your only getting pure bass to your subs and nothing else
.
That PAC system definatly is not worth the time and I am not even sure they would sell it at an audio store. Just save the hassle and get all aftermarket, it does the exact same thing just has more room for expansion and they look nicer

The thing is, he's not gonna be able to get it done by pros for $200. And unfortunately, aftermarket headunits arent all that much more powerful than stock. Maybe like 10 watts if it really came down to it. Also, if you want an aftermarket headunit that does auxillary hookup, satellite radio, and 3 sets of pre-outs, you're looking at at least 200 if not more.
Also, some audio stores do sell the PAC stuff, or they can get it for you.
Ultimately, I would definately go with an aftermarket headunit, especially if you want to amp the speakers, but you most likely aren't going to find one to do that below 200$.

i would like to have the 2 10's that i had in my probe in the cav, but not sure if i wanna lose trunk space cuz im always hauling stuff back from the junkyard . the cav is and LS and with the stock speakers in the shelf it seems like the trunk acts as a sealed box for them cuz they hit pretty hard , plus i like the fact that its got the stock radio cuz no one will mess with it , but it dont have the Gain that the aftermarket HU has .
from the add on ebay they say that you can run a more powerfull amp with that harnessand still use the stock HU, if you think it would be better just takin it to get done by a Pro. with the box, speaker, and radio then i guess i should do that instead of tryin to cheap sht it

You're not really trying to cheap sht it.
From what you said, this is what I would do.
Keep your stock headunit. Get a high to low convertor which will give you RCA connections for your mono amp for your subs. Go get new speakers for the front and rear. Then listen to how it sounds. If you find that you want to amp the new speakers, get a 4 channel amp that has speaker level inputs. Then you don't have to worry about using that PAC thing.
Also, do you have the monsoon amp?? If you don't know, it'll be in the trunk, drivers side, under the trunk liner.
If you have anymore questions, just ask.
-Seth
would it say monsoon on it ? i have a factory amp , but nothing in the car says that its a monsoon system . i have a pionieer amp that used in the probe with the 2 10's and i have new 6x9's that i got from walmart and while back , every thing i have is out of the probe when i traded it in . where would i get the high to low converter ?

if you have the 4 wires going to your rear speakers they are already amplified. that is what that adaptor is for. to use the factory wirinf to run a better amp 4 the read speakers. there are a lot of ways to do what you want. with that kit and some rca splitters you could probable use two amps. one for the rear speakers and one for the subs. i would suggest running a better power wire if you are adding an apmlifier for subs. i would go with a 4 channel amp if you are keeping the rear stock speakers and use a channel for each tweeter and a channel for each woofer. then you could set the xover on the amp to run the highs to the tweets and lows to the woofers. good luck man.
