Just go to google and look up "port size calculator"

The one that the most people use will be the first link

okay only 3 cubes 3.5 might be a little much for only a 1 inch excusion even if its a 15. 16 x 26 x 17 then the port can be 4 inches + the 3/4 of wood wide and 14.5 tall. now all i need is the depth. can someone please help cuz those website calculators are really @!#$in with me

Net Volume: 3 cubic feet
Tuning Frequency: 32 Hz
Port Width: 5.5 inches
Port Area: 79.75 Square Inches
Port Length: 62.5 inches

External Dimensions: 25 wide x 16 tall x 34 deep.
Board Dimensions and Quantity
Color Count Width Height
Top and Bottom 2 25 inches 34 inches
Red 1 18.75 inches 14.5 inches
Yellow 1 33.25 inches 14.5 inches
Black 1 23.5 inches 14.5 inches
Green 1 34 inches 14.5 inches
Teal 1 27 inches 14.5 inches
Violet 1 25.75 inches 14.5 inches

Number of 49x97 Sheets of 3/4" MDF: 0.875

Once again it doesnt work cuz the depth is 2 times longer then the box and the width is too big is it just me or do these things not like me?

it can only be 4w x 14.5h would i accually need 79.75 suare inches more to get the right port cuz i did a 2.5 cube box and its only 14.5 inches long as well as 2 inches wide so wtf again?

why can the port only be 4 inches wide?......if you go up to 5.5 then that works....i think you are looking at it wrong.......the port on that box starts at the bottom of teal goes up teal and back down purple....like a u shape.....while maintaining the 5.5 inch width all the way down......mount your sub on the yellow side and you should be fine.....

it cant be over 32 in wide if its 16 high cuz then it wont fit through the cabin after i cut those triangle pieces out to get it in. i can put it on the back of the box facing the side or the car but then it doesnt have any room to breathe so how could i do that? idk what all the abreviations are for and im sure it would help in simlifying the port if i did. anyone know what they stand for?

SSi15.22 is my sub

The best way for you to do it is to make it a slot port rather than a round one, that way there you can make the port stretch from the top of the box to the bottom. if you were to make it 14.5 tall and 2 inches wide the port length would have to be 17.36 inches to tune it to 32

y does it get long while the port gets wider? isnt it if u make it wide it would make it shorter cuz itll cover the same area need to be tuned like that?

But those calculators are correct. He's just saying as opposed to having a port that's 5.5x62.5 round, then you can have a rectangle port 14.5x2x17.36 The area of those ports is the same.

2 inches is too small for a 5 to breathe aint it?

No. The area of the port "mouth" is actually greater.
5.5 round: 2πrē= ~23.75 inē
14.5x2 rectangle: 29 inē

well i mean for the air to move through would it be too constricting cuz a lot of air would be trying to move through only a recagle so skinny?

It's still a no, since the area is the same. If anything, it'll be easier. Instead of having to squeeze into a central hole that has an area of ~23 sq in, it's going in a rectangle with an area of 29 sq in that runs the height of the box, so the air doesn't have to find a hole, it's already there.

k thats the box im goin to build but i was just wondering if i took the poer and made it go out the back since right where it comes out the side is where out trunks get really skinny. would this affect anything or no? i want it pretty low tuned so i can use the 15 will it constrict it more?
