i want to put six 15s in my 88 cavalier,in the back seat...but i do not want to do a "wall" in my car.Is this possible or can someone tell me how I can do this....
well first i wouldnt recommend doing this with out some serious fiberglass/wo0dworking experience under your belt, second what kind of 15's? 15's require a certain size cubic port for functionality reasons,so thats going to throw a whole nother obstacle building the enclosure, not to mention if u dont build a big enough port and give each sub its recommended air space they wont perform properly, ur better off doing two 15's with proper ports and air space, unless u plan on building a huge wall with the woofers right behind you 15's will not work....sounds like ur in over ur head....id try building a box and puttin it in ur trunk.....
u want 6 15s in ur back seat but no wall? wont happen... theres not enough airspace in the back seat for 6 even making a giant wall let alone without it. there wouldnt be enough if u went into the trunk with the enclosure.
Check out my build thread!
can be done jus needs a lil ingenuity, full build here...
crazy install!
1st 1st gen on air.....
Lol,hello everyone Im Tim.....................Yes it can be done .....and that last pic there thatd be my Z..6 Memphis M3 15s Sealed ,in 12 cubes,750 watts Per woofer RMS @4 ohms.....all custom fiberglass interior(far from complete...
cant be done...........lol.ps whats up N8ball i gots me a lil "Groundpounder"here....
lol. how ya doing tim. i forgot all about yours but please forgive me. Im not used to seeing someone with the fiberglaspimphand over here. did you get it finished yet.
lo0ks nice...doubt those subs have proper airspace for a sealed enclosure.....u did 1 hell of a job tho,i remember the post of ur progress pics awhile back, came out great,im doin 4 alpine type x 12's in my back seat, just started makin the mold...gotta love the fiberglass fumes......Tim let me know when u blow ur window seal out,im sure thatll be loud as f*ck,go0d job man
as far as airspace ....its damn close...the only thing i dont like is,that it is a common chamber, but as long as the amps are level matched it should be ok....
No its not done yet N8 itll be a while yet im sure,i only get to plug away at it a little here and a little there,im always getting sidetracked....
i have 4 15's in my 97 cavy thats not walled off, 2 fire up while other 2 are forward, they are RF p2 series, i had once considered doin 6, considering my old enclosure was a wall with a curved fiberglass face and before the face was made the internal volume was about 11.5 cubes, these subs need a minimum of 1.75 cubes so that would of been a similiar size enclosure but more elaborate design...so depending on brand of sub i would think it's possible
