hardwire monstor i-pod transmitter?

I have the monster FM transmitter for the i pod and i need to know if i would like to know if i can hard wire it into my car instead of using the 12V outlet. I'm a little nervous on cutting it open because i dont know if there are just two wires in it, or if there is a special FM deal that would screw up if i opened it up. i have a wire i can connect it to, i'm just unsure if the FM aspect of it will fail if i cut it open.

Buy a cigarette outlet that has two wires coming out of it, hardwire that in behind the dash, plug the monster adaptor into that, wrap it up in some electrical tape so it won't work itself loose.

It may depends on where you get the adaptor, but the one we sell at Circuit City has red and black wires coming out of the back. I know Walmart and most auto parts places carry them too.
