A tuner, antenna and subscription are required for a satellite radio system to be functional.

I was wondering that also, can you mount the antenna say, on the back windsheild inside the car? if not whats the best and most descrete way to mount it?

Sirius and XM both recommend that you install the antenna on 1) the roof 2) the trunk (for convertibles, ect) 3) on the hood. In that order I believe. Basically, I have installed antennas on all three locations, but I like to go w. either the trunk (dead center, even w. the 3rd brake light) or for our cars, you can mount them on the top dash, that smaller piece, on the passenger side. If they are mounted inside, you lose some signal. The antenna will operate at about 80% - 90% the signal. As long as it has a direct line-of-sight to the sky you shouldn't have an issue. Hope this helps!

mount it right at the front of the roof, near the windshield weather stripping. all you have to do is just lift it up a little to get it started, then slide the wire under there the whole way down to the door hinge. from there it's like 2 inches to take it in through your door seal. just make sure not to kink it or strip the insulation off anywhere, and if you go with the roof (much better reception), make sure to pull it off the roof before you wash the car. also try not to use automatic car washes with it there.

I also have a satelite radio ready reciever. One thing I love about it is how I don't have 2 have a car kit that mounts it 2 ur dash window, I can control it right from the deck

What about mounting it on the back of the roof and running the wire down the seal and into the trunk and up to the dash? I know thats a long ways to go but I would think it would look better. Can I buy extra wiring for it or is it pre-made lenght that cant be added onto?

Thanks for all the help so far... lots of help.

i guess you could do that. didn't really see a difference between it sitting on the back of my roof or the front. the front is just closer to the radio, so it's a lot shorter run, and a lot less to take apart and route the wire through... and as far as i know, the 20ft or whatever that comes with the radio is the longest you can get, as far as i've seen anyway...
