New System

I posted a while back about some problems I was having with my subs. Well, I took it in and turns out one of the subs was blown =[

Anyways, I'm going to be selling my good sub, the enclosure, and the amp.

Right now I just want to do away with the subs and get some new speakers.

Here's what I am looking at:

For the back
Eclipse 6" x 9" 4-Way Coaxial Speakers (SE8495)
• 75 watts RMS
• 220 watts peak
• 3/4” super tweeter
• Sensitivity: 93 dB
• Impedance: 4 ohms
• Hybrid mica cone
• Variable crossover

For the front
Eclipse 4" x 6" 2-way Coaxial Speakers (SE8465A)
• 30 watts RMS
• 90 watts peak
• Sensitivity: 87 dB
• Impedance: 4 ohms

Let me know what you guys think.

Bump.

Any opinions on these speakers or recommendations?

I'm also in the market for a CD Deck. I'm looking for something MP3 compatible that reads discs fast.

Thanks fellas.

Do a set of 6 1/2's in the front doors, and thank me later. As far as decks, Alpine, Kenwood, or JVC decks seem to do the trick.

6 1/2's wont fit though right?

You would have to get some adapters, here in Ontario they cost about thirty dollars. I would suggested making some adapters out of some 5/8 or 3/4 MDF. The wood sounds alot nicer and it is much easier to make the adapters fit behind the door panel (some people have to cut the speaker grill out. 6 1/2's are a good choice, they provide a much better front soundstage.

6 1/2's will fit with an adapter. make one out of wood, and like i said, thank me later

like said above either go with some nice infinity 4x6 components or 6 "1/2s
if you go with the front speakers you ahve chosen your backs will overpower your fronts

Eclipse makes some nice stuff. I really like them..and yes you can fit 6 1/2" in if you have adapters. That's what I have in my car. Otherwise, like said above, Infinity is a good brand for speakers also.

Where can I buy the adapters?

My second choice in speakers was Infinity, maybe I'll go with those for the back too.

Thanks fellas.

Also, if I got Infinity's, which ones do you recommend?

Give me the top 4x6, 6x8, and 6.5'z

Go with a set of kappa components, heck even reference components will do you justice.

Orrrr for $50 more instead of the 4x6's I could go with these and get the adapter:

Also sorry for triple post, but I can't find any adapters that do 4x6 to 6 1/2. Where can I find them?

Best Buy/Circuit City carries them. Or make your own.

to make the adaptor, maybe like $5 wood...lol...but you need a sheet for like $15 or something if you can find those small sheets that some stores carry

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.

Do you have a guide for making the adapter? I don't know how, so I just figured it would be easier to buy one.

i just traced my old 4x6 on the wood then cut it out, then traced the new speaker hole over that and drill new holes.
