I turn my headlights on all the way and sometimes its on and sometimes its not. Sometimes it does turn on but then it turns off whenever. Sometimes even the smallest thing such as putting my signal can turn it on/off. The DRL are on still when the headlights are on. Anybody know why my headlights are so random?
edited the profile, its a 98 2dr cavalier.
The multifunction switch is going bad (aka turn signal arm). You may need to replace it.

is it possible for me to fix myself? and how would i go about doing it?
Actually, its fairly easy to change.
On the bottom of the plastic steering column trim, there are 3 - 7mm bolts. Take those out.
The trim piece can now be removed. The top snaps into the bottom...
Using a 7mm wrench, remove the 2 screws from the switch. Unplug it from the harness.
Plug in the new one, reinstall the screws and column surround.
Oh, and if your car has tilt steering, you have to take out the tilt lever. Its loctite'd in, so pliers and a rag, or there's what looks like a spot for an open end wrench is all that is needed to remove it.

So basically i have to replace the malfunction switch right? And this is what is causing my headlights to act funny? I'll get the switch from GM or something and try your instruction thanks.
Yeah, the switch sometimes goes bad to the point where you have to cock the arm towards you just a hair for the headlights to turn on... I'm on my 3rd switch
