I am currently looking to build a box for my MTX MXS1204 12", I am inputing my data into WinISD for the first time and have come up with a box size of 2.5ft^3 at 35Hz (4.02 in vent diameter, and 7.01 in port length) Would this be a good choice? I am designing the box for SPL, but the box will still be used for my daily driver. If im heading in the wrong direction could someone give me some heads up.
Specs are:
Qts: .85 Qms: 4.74
Vas: 23.3 Qes: 1.03
Fs: 43.3 SPL: 89.37
Re: 3.03 Pe: 400
Le: BL: 13.07
Xmax:16.510 Dia: 258 mm
Z: Sd: 522.790
Thank you!
Just a note im not too sure if the box size is too small, if so the size doesnt matter as long as it fits in my trunk..
OK.. But i am aiming to to gain some lower end bass, will the size of the box work well for this? and will i gain any dB's from this design (i still wanna maintain this box for daily driving.. I am currently using a pre-fabbed box.
A note if my box size is W-18.54, H-28.77, D-11.73, and i use a port 4inch round and 7 inch long, would i have to resize my box to accommodate the port?
That box won't fit your sub, you'll need something like 18 wide by 12ish high by 28 deep. Your "depth" is too shallow to accomodate the sub.

yes, you must take into account subwoofer displacement and port displacement. as well as any bracing or troll dolls that will be inside the box.

I changed the depth of the box, I gained about a 3.5 dB increase in the 60-70hz range. Thanks
