2 12's in the trunk 10 in the seat.

Well, last week I helped a friend of mine move some furniture into his new apartment. In return he gave me a 10" rockford fosgate punch. I was completly baffeled as to where i was going to put it because I've already got 2 12" JLs in my trunk that take up literally the entire trunk.

So after playing around a little bit I decided I'd just toss it in the backseat for now until I figure something out to do with it.
Today I climbed in and put it right in the middle and sat next to it (im a pretty good sized guy) and it was actually a pretty comfortable fit. So I wired it up this morning.... its still quite sloppy so I may clean up the wires today and post a couple of pics...
But what I'm curious about is if anyones cut out the middle of their seat for the box to fit and if so could I see some pictures of it? And maybe a description of how you've went about doing it?
Right now its sittin in the middle of the back seat literally belted in, so needless to say... it looks a bit silly and before I start butchering my seat I want a little knowledge... thanks guys.

IMO, if you are happy with your current subs, I would sell the thing.

Sitting in the back seat is a dangerous place for a sub box. Also, you are going to get a lot of cancelation problems there, and it just isn't going to sound right. ALSO, running different models/different sizes/different enclosures etc.. is a bad situation. Your subs are there to pick up certain frequencies and I'm sure the pair of 12's you have do that just fine. adding this RF 10 inch sub in the back seat is simply a bad situation.

I see not a single good thing to say about it. Nor do I have any advice on how to make it right, or make it work. Unfortunately I think this is a completely fruitless effort man.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I would put a 10" under the seat so you could do the 33Hz trick

Yeah I know it can affect the sound quality, but I'm still young and enjoy loud, abnoxious bass

I'll clarify by saying that it should go under the passenger's seat.

And the 33Hz trick.... well, let's just say sound waves around 33Hz vibrate a certain part of the female anatomy vigorously

i gotta agree...i've also heard its a bad idea to put 12's and 10's (or any different size subs) together because they will hit at different times....so keep your rear seat in one piece

with diffrent sized and types of speakers youlle have frequncies peak and dip at diffrent times so theres a good chance it wont be even noticably louder. esp where your putting the 10 is a good spot for cancellation so its going to be work for very very little gain if any at all. kinda like having two grown men screaming in your ears and then adding a 10 year old kid screaming. chances are your not even going to notice the kid.
