I am far from an audio expert but have narrowed my choices down to three particular items. Now from what I think I know, and please correct me if I am wrong, out of the three decks that I am interested in buying Pioneer is the best followed by Clarion and then JVC. The decks are Pioneer DEH-P6900UB, Clarion DXZ-865MP and JVC-KD-AVX11. All are around the same price but the JVC plays DVD's on a 2.7 inch sreen - small but cool. Would love opinions on which you experts would go with. Thanks.
if your looking for a good overall unit get the pioneer...4 volt rca's, USB , ipod connection, aux input, 22 watts rms if your not using an amp. Plays any cd and it IS a pioneer
is a 2.7 inch screen really worth it? now thats up to you to decide....i like the pioneer tho. I got the 4900 and couldn't be happier
I have the exact pioneer and so far I love it, this is my third one, first two were in my old tempo(girlfriend has that now) and I just installed the 6900 in my 01 cav, easy install, getting a very quite high pitched sound from it, but I think it may have something to do with a poor ground, only noticable when there is no music playing when it is very quiet.
it could also be an electronic hum, I am going to check my friends as well so see if he has it too, exact same unit.
we both like them very much, I think this is his 2nd pioneer as well
Thanks for the quick opinions. I am not suprised with any of your advice. It's good to have a neutral party share their opinion. I really liked the JVC with the little DVD screen, but that is the little boy in me. I need to think quality over gadgets or I will be right back where I was three years ago buying drop zone coilovers and sony decks only to replace them with quality components when they break or work like crap. I will head down to the audio store and make a decision between the clarion and the pioneer. Thanks again.
