Sanding steps for fiberglass

I didn't know what topic to post this under so I figured that "general" would do.

I have 2 fiberglassed boxes that I am in the process of getting ready to have them painted, and I am to the part where I have bondoed and sanded and then shot the first layer of primer on to the box.

I have not sanded the primer down or anything yet, looking for some advice on what grit to start sanding the primer with or if i should just put some more body filler down and then sand the whole thing or what.

So if someone could give me some advice that would be great.

I want to do this project right because the boxes are going to be the main thing in my trunk and I dont want them looking crappy!!!

Thanks in advance.

if your to the primer stage and the box is completly smooth,no waves or dips you can just wetsand the primer with 400 grit and call it a day. if its not finished wich im wondering if it is since your talking about adding more bondo. just go with 60 grit till all the waves and dips are out then work your way up to 400 then prime it and wetsand it with 400. just remember even the slightest wave or dip or indention you see in primer is going to be 100x more noticeable when you get paint and clear on it, so make sure its perfect before you go to paint or you will regret it. (and this is basically considered an interior question)

Thank you.

Yeah, I sanded the filler down and then shot some primer on top to see where my imperfections were/are and I still need to fill a few more spots and continue sanding my life away. haha

and then to wet sand should i wet the sand paper or wet the box?

i wet both then once the box is wet i'll just dip the sandpaper in my water every so often to clear it out.
