well i happen to have come accross a factory gm remote for keyless entry for free.

it is a 3 button remote, same number as my remote for my 97.... except there is one problem.....

the three button the came with my car is a "Lock/ Unlock/ Trunk" remote

the one i got for free is "Lock/ Unlock/ Panic"

i really only need the lock and unlock to work as this will just be a remote for a spare key set.

anyone know if it will work? i have no idea what the remote came out of, but im going to asume a truck.

my 97 remote has this on the back :

GM16245100-29
CANADA: 218101368
MODEL/FCCID: AB(D/0)1502T

the new remote has this on the back:

GM/LEAR 15042968
FCCID: KOBLEAR1XT
CANADA: 3521 102 1718

any help would be much appreciated, when i get a chance im going to try the relearn on it anyways and see what happens.

well i tried the reprogram tonight, no it didnt work.

so, does anyone want a key fob that might work for their car? this thing is useless to me now...
