I have a 01 sunfire gt with the monsoon audio package.. I was wondering if I could easily swap the head unit for a 04-05 sunfire monsoon mp3 head unit.

I asked this before, Of swapping a 2002 to a new 04-05 unit and some said its possible and some said its not. All the audio places I called said that i couldnt because mileage and other stuff is stored in the deck and even with an aftermarket unit id need to re-wire the monsoon to the trunk.

Id like to believe that its possible, but you might need a dealer to make it possible.

Sorry, forgot to mention, that most places were clueless, because I ripped out the monsoon unit and put in another one and have no problems at all.

You should be able to do this, but you might not want to if you plan on buying the unit new. Id find a junkyard or ebay or something. The unit from a dealer is 600+ if i remember right.

hmm... that's odd I thought that all head units from 00-05 were wired the same.... and I also thought the odometer readings were stored in the bcm... I know the theftlock would have to be set up by dealer...
