i'm looking at buying some subs fer my cav, either 10's er 12's dunno yet(opinions)... and i wannted to make a fiberglass box... but i was wondering how big the box has to be.. thx

box size depends on the subs...which depend on your budget....for example, an alpine type r sounds best with a 1 cubic foot box per sub sealed...

and an image dynamics idq10 can be place in a .25 cu. ft. box. so decide how much room you can afford to use then pick a sub that will fit in the space and see how much airspace you need.

It's a matter of taste. Large boxes will provide flatter bass and good low-end extension. Smaller boxes will give you a mid frequency boost at the expense of low frequency output and transient response. I tend to go for larger boxes since you can always turn up a quiet sub in a big box, but a sub in too small of a box will sound like crap at any volume.

do you know how to fiberglass? do you know how to calculate volume?

i've done a ton of research on fiberglassing, but no, i havnt done it before.....
