List of who to trust for advice in this forum

For anyone who does not typically frequent this forum, there are a lot of people who spout off opinions and post-whore their advice just like in the other forums. Here is a small list of people in no particular order who, over the years, have proven that they know what they are talking about, and consistently provide quality advice.

1. sndsgood. God of the Audio & Electronics forum. His word is pretty much law, and he is always willing to help.
2. John Lenko
3. n8ball2013
4. Lanman31337
5. Viper98912
6. Alex Lindeman
7. JLAudioCavalier

This is just a short list, and I'm sure I have forgotten someone. If a name is not on this list then take their advice with cautious pessimism, unless someone from the above list agrees they should have been added here. If worst comes to worst, take a look at the persons registry who is giving you advice and see if they have photos that show they look like they know what they are talking about.

.To the OP,I have been doing installs since high school and I am 32.Don't judge people that you don't know anything about. They might have 10x the experience or knowledge that you have. It's good you made a list of knowledgable people but if someone that doesn't frequent this forum wants to state their opinion in this forum, then so be it.

^^^ And if their information is true, they won't be told to shut the f up by someone more knowledgeable. Some people can't tell the difference between bad information and good information, and that's a pretty solid list of the people who can steer you in the right direction when you're not sure.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.

Ya thats a common problem....

I've been messing with car audio systems for a long freaking time too and I know what I'm doing.... I've just forgotton some terminology..... for example.... I can't ever remember if wiring 2 subs into a mono amp (both positive wires going to positive terminal on the amp and the same for the grounds) is called wiring them parrelel or in series... and stuff like that.... so I have a hard time helping people sometimes.... but i can build you one hell of a system and tune it well if you have the money...

I have a full system worth over 2 grand easy in my car and I'm never in this forum....... Honestly I don't know why.... You would think this would be a fairly cut and dry forum.... but it's not..... and it's nice to know if who your talking to knows what they are talking about or not..... since the only way to know for sure is if your knowledable of these things yourself..... in wich case... you prob wont be asking for anyones help.....

Yeah, 2 and 4 are real jagoffs. Mang you should come ride on the dinosaur sometime.

Phil - you should have added your name in the first place. Props are given where props are due All those guys and Phil will tell you how it is without any bull. If we say it's crap, don't argue with us or I'll kick you in your eye. If we say wang, then it's going to wang.

there's lot of people on the internetz that know what they are doing. Doesn't mean they all need to be listed here. This is a list of people to listen to, that are around here often.

i know he doesnt post on here very often, but he does frequent the site quite a bit.

Shane Hewitt

i know he knows his stuff. he has been hand crafting audio systems for years. his finishing and style is nothing special when compared to some of the systems on here that are all fiberglassed and illuminated up. when it comes to function and building a GOOD system, he knows what he is talking about. He's helped me build the system in my car and the one in my house, and i have listened to many many systems he has built or at least had a hand in building.

i know all the guys that are on the lists know what they are talking about, but i would trust him over anyone when it comes to anything audio or automotive. mostly its because i know him outside of this website, but its also because i know he is going to give me his honest opinion and give me as much knowledge as he can to help me find the answer.

i do agree with most of the people who are on that list though. they do deserve to be on there because they do know what they are talking about. the one thing i have a problem with is most of the people on here and even some of those on that list are way too brand oriented rather than equipment performance oriented.

I'd also like to add Cavi Sedan LS and Rapfiend03 - they don't post a whole lot anymore, but they know their stuff as well.

Can I add myself or is this like Gmail and I have to get an invite.
j/k

I know some stuff, not all the stuff or even most of the stuff. But I have been around Audio since a child and have seen some crazy !#@# I would have more audio in my cars just lack the funds. I think I add to a good amount of shenanigans on here. When I try to give advice at least one person in that list beats me to it.

I would say there are about a dozen or so people on here who are truly recommendable for help some just post more then others.
