I have 2 power hx2 15inch rockfords, I wanna do a sealed box, recommened sealed for these guys is 1.25 cubic foot. right now I have them in their own box sealed to 1.25 and they are crazy nice.
But I wanna put them into 1 box sealed using 3/4 mdf , I came up with some measurements 18H 34W 10D and should give me 2.64 cubic foot.
I have limited space , Because I need access to my spare tire. subs will be facing in the cab with seat down.
If anyone has any ideas just holla give me some info on what you would do maybe go with a diff box style or something. thank you in advance.
I get 2.63 before sub and bracing displacement and im pretty sure your going to need some bracing. I would also suggest you face them to the rear of the car instead of firing forward.
Face them to the rear and get some grills. It is a lot louder due to cabin gain that way.
If I ever have to access my spare, I'll get to remove my sub/amp. :/
pretty much agree with these guys, if you want loud bass, you have to lose some other options...like space in your trunk, and access to your spare. to be honest i dont even carry one any more. also, you should follow the directions that come with the sub, because your dimensions are right for 1.25 cu., without the sub installed...you have to take into consideration the displacement of the sub/any bracing you may want to do. in all honesty, a box that small made of 3/4 MDF i think you'll be fine without bracing.
also, remember that you need to separate the two subs, they both need there own chamber.
wow thanks for advice! if theres anymore just keep on posting.
each sub will be in their own chamber and so i'll just make them 1.25 each then right
