Run-down protection sets off alarm

OK alarm gurus... got a wild one here...

I have a Compustar 2WFM900AS alarm.. when I arm it, it's fine... until 10 minutes later when the battery run-down protection shuts off the power to the trunk light circuit... then for some reason, the alarm thinks the trunk is open.

I checked to see if there was a diode on the factory wiring, and there is... as there's supposed to be (I wasn't sure, with all the re-wiring I've done on this car now!!)... it's after connector C200, on pin X.. circuit 1732 which is the "inadvertent power control" (BCM-controlled switched battery voltage). It feeds the rearview mirror, courtesy lamps and trunk lamp.

Any suggestions on how to prevent this from setting off the alarm? Only thing I can think of is to run a new switch for the trunk input.

...j

ok you could use a diode, i believe its stripe side towards the bcm....if that doesn't work, get your self one of these.., just teak one wire ground it out and put the other wire to the trunk trigger on the alarm. Screw the plastic piece (good place to ground your wire) to the bottom of the trunk parallel to the side opening of the trunk so that when its opened the ball bearing goes down..... hope i made some sense....LOL

I would just add a new pin switch
