It was/is INSANE!
Vehicle - 1995 Yukon / 2door
Amp - MTX 92001 - 3,851 watts RMS @ 1ohm
Power Supply - Twin 250 amp alternators / Twin 2,400amp Kinetik Power Cells
Subs - 3 MTX 9500s - Singel 4ohm coils
Box - 13.2 Cubic ft. Ported.
This was by far the loudest most painful set up I've installed. We only had the Subs hooked up and the customer came to get the truck to get the alternators hooked up.
He wanted THE LOUDEST TRUCK AROUND, I think he got it.
We had about a dozen or so people sit in it and they all got out before the sweep was over.
Not my thing to have it that loud, but it made the customer smile. That is all that matters to me.
Once it is all said and done, I'll see if he'll go get it metered as I'm curious as to what it hits.
Like I said, it is not my thing the way he has his system set-up. However it is VERY impressive to hear/feel it!
Awesome. I remember in high school, the rich kid had a brand new Pathfinder with four Fosgate 15s in a plexiglass isobaric enclosure. Back when cruising was still cool we could here him coming before we could see him at the end of the "boulevard" which was easily a 1/4 mile from the parking lot we hung out in. This was like 91-92 when everyone had a loud stereo.

that is just nuts.
I know what you mean though, i don't care for that, but there's no denying...thats impressive.
If you do this for a business, you should have taken pics for promotion. Not every day someone sells a setup like that.

I'm not saying it was the LOUDEST in the world, It was the loudest system I've installed. I've installed a lot.

When we finish the install we will take some photos, however We do not carry MTX and we ordered the amp for him. He bought the subs somewhere else.
The amp we used is the same amp they use on the Jackhammer, but they use 2 of them strapped together. That thing pulls almost 500amps of current and is just about 30inches long!
I have some pics on my phone of the sub wiring. I used 8awg positive and negative coming from the amp to the sub on the right, then I used the saem for the sub on the left. Well on 9500's there are 2 positive and 2 negative tallen screw erminals on each sub, after I went to the left and right subs I then ran from each one to the middle sub. Kinda like a loop. Each sub had 2 8awg pos and neg wires coming and going from it.
The wiring alone was nuts.
eh i guess i was wrong
And that mtx amp is a beast !! i know a guy with one on a 18" btl his birthsheet was something crazy like 39xx wats
Bah, birth sheets mean nothing

yea they do if you get no voltage loss and no ohm rise
With the 0awg coming from a 2400 Kinetik about 6inches away and another one 3 feet away from that I think his voltage is fine.
I will set up the O-scope and see how much Clean power it actually puts out next time he comes in.

Which is impossible on any type of music.

Or anything else....coils heating up, the box, impedance rise...birthsheets, almost as deceiving as ****PEAK POWER****

Couldn't have put it better my self, its completely impossible to get the perfect conditions the amp needs to produce that power.

16 volts and wired to 1/4 ohm
Xplode will do that.

for $30.
car audio noob since 1984.
Like I said, I will Scope the amp and see how much actaul clean voltage comes from it and then compare it to the documant for the amp. It doesn't even matter at this point how much power is coming from it anyway, it flat out hurts to listen to it.

no distorting that information
I use Listerine on my amps, that gives them +5db over Scope.
