tomorrow im going to rebuild a box for my 2 12's. i was wondering if i coul cover them up so know one will know they are there. but i want it to be small as possible. the old box is way to big. if the speak was about 1 inch from the wood will it still sound good?
no i would have to say probably not...Do you kno what bass is?
4-2-1 pacesetter header..full 2.5 pacesetter piping..bomz cai..genkei short shifter..vibrant front and rear strut bars..aem tru power alt pulley..neon glow strobes..xenon ultra blues..panasonic 7" flipout..Lanzar 15" sub..legacy 2000watt mono..
i dotn care for the bass at all i dont want a lot of bass any ways.

That being the case, the most effective way to conceal the subwoofers would be to leave them at home.
Going to the trouble of installing a pair of 12" subs when you don't really want them to take up any space, or be seen, or work well -- seems kind of... pointless.

i agree with above posts. you dont care about bass, want trunk space, and dont want them to be seen. the best idea would be t not put them in at all.
What I would do is go to one 12 and make a smaller box. You can safety use a smaller box as long as you turn it gain down.

Just get some good components and amp them. You won't get hardcore bass (like you want) and you wont use a single inch of trunk space unless you put your amp there. Or just go pick up a JL Audio 8W3v3-8 and a smallish box and a 200 watt amp. They sound good, tripped me out for a min when i went to a store and they had that little subwoofer hooked up to a 500/1 JL amp.. Impressive sub for being small

Sorry I meant "the gain down." You know, on the amp. So there isn't as much power being pumped to the sub. That will extend the life of the sub in a box that is a little smaller then the recommended size.
