Help for this gal please! Sunroof Problem!

I have a 1996 Cavalier Z-24 with a power sunroof. It worked great until lately...started with clicking noises when it opened and closed...so I stopped using it. So then one sunny day, I decided to try it and see..

Well, it got stuck while half way in the open position. Later that night, rain was called for so a few guys (who were friends of mine) who worked at an Automotive Center were able to get it closed.

Thing is, the sunroof won't work at all now. I am glad it's in the closed position, but now that the days are getting prettier, I would really like to fix it so it can be used again. I am also looking to sale the car, so this is a must fix before I can do that now.

Anyone have this happen? If so, what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I love my cavy, but it doesn't love me right now.

grease up the rails their probably seizing. spray it with some wd-40 to get it moving again then some lithium grease. Otherwise you may need a new motor.

I was having the same type of problem. my 2000 Sunfire would stick occasionally, and be hell to open. i have found it gets stuck on the plastic tabs on the rubber guides that are on the car. i used a generous amount of WD 40 then white lithium grease on the rubber and metal guides. Problem solved.

I'll eventually take the time to put something here. I swear.
