quick question. my rear dash vibrates like its got a job doin it. what is the most effective way to fix this? i have the entire face of the dash dyna-matted, and the dash cover has foam tape on it, but when the tape moves, it starts vibrating again. is there a more effective way to keep the dash in place? i dont even have subs yet, just replaced the 6x9's with some sony 350 watt speakers.
are the speakers attached to the plastic bracket thing or straight to the deck plate? Either way, sound deadener would be your best choice and will not only make the rattle stop but improve the sound.
I did the top on mine.. probably the safe bet is to do the entire trunk while your at it. It will save you time and probably some bux too. I say go Ebay route since you can get it cheaper than you could at an electronics shop (unless u know people there)
Oh and my speakers are screwed in from the top. They're not drilled through the deck plate... I think. lol
Ok. They're drilled from the top. It goes through the plastic bracket that holds the speaker, through the carpeting & cardboard (not neccessarily in that order), but NOT through the metal on the bottom...
I tightened the screws & it silenced itself a little...

i just did my trunk.. and yes i had one big problem with this.. i did the top part where the speakers are with the dyno.. but mine is not the dyno matt its different stuff. same thing though.. also if your going to put subs in there its going to do it again.. there is a big hole where some wires are going though to your trunk lid. tape up them wires and place some of that dyno matt on top and bottom of that hole. dont pinch them wires cut out a slit in the dyno mat so the wires are fine.. i have no rattle anymore.

so......you mounted your speakers to the 1/16" cardboard on top of the deck and youre wondering why it rattles?
rattles allot of the time are pieces of plastic vibrating against other pieces or metal. ive found cheap foam padding from like a farbric store and foam type material on the back of any plastic piece in the car will cut down on 75% of rattles. dynamat and the likes are great stuff and work as well but you can cut down the majority of rattle for under 20 dollars.

^^^i agree most of the time a rattle can be something stupid that can be fixed for a few dollars, but i think he needs to start with the major probable cause of the speakers basically free floating on the back deck. plus he said he put foam tape between the cardboard and metal deck which comes loose and rattles.
get yourself some 3" screws and actually mount the speaks to the deck.
