Alright guys. I installed some Type S speakers into my 03 Cav Z24 today. My car has factory amped rear speakers.
Now when I turn my car on and off, the rear speakers are "popping" a little bit. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this?
I'm planning on amping them over the winter, so just a temporary fix will work.
Thanks

Also wondering what a good amp to power these would be. Thanks

if they're popping, upgrade/fix all your grounds. That means make sure the ground from the speaker to the deck is good on each driver. Plus make sure the ground from the deck to chassis, and amp to chassis are good.
A good amp for fronts would be an amp that has a lowest-running impedance of half the speakers rating.
Example:
Amplifier A makes 100x2 @ 2 ohms and 60x2@4 ohms, use that if the speakers are four ohms. This helps retain control of the speaker.
(You could get an amp that runs at 4ohms as its lowest, which would be louder but less controlled, in theory).
In all honest, just get an amp in your price range. The speakers aren't exactly SQ status, and the crossover components they use degrade any good sound that might be coming out of the amp. (I'm assuming these aren't components)
Ya, they deffinatly aren't components. There 4x6 two ways in the front, and 3 way 6x9 in the rear. Thanks for the insight for sure! Its just my rears doing it when power is put to them....the initial turn on and off. I'll check the grounds for sure though!
