Car Keeps Shocking Me!

I think this is somehow tied to my inteference issue in my RCAs. If I turn my car on and touch the outside or anything metal, the damn thing shocks me. Its not painful just bothersome. I'm thinking a bad ground somewhere or something. Haven't had the time this week to check it out front to back but my amp and cap grounds are fine. Any ideas?

lol your car just hates you... But i have no clue what would cause that unless there is voltage going through one of the body panels some how and your somehow makeing a connection by touching it to something else.

are you sure your ground on your amp is perfectly grounded?? because mine did the same thing and it turned out to be my ground it was bouncing up and down on the screw. My system never cut out either.

check your tire condition. as the tires spin they can build static electricity. usually this is dispersed before you exit the vehicle. but if you do not have good tires then it can shock you as you are getting out of the car. check into that.

used to happen to me all the time before i moved to florida. all you have to do is hold onto the top of the door (or any other metal part of the car) as your getting out and you wont get shocked

Happened to me before but only in the Fall/winter...i guess its the sweaters making static electricity and discharging when you touch metal. Like white boy said....i havnt tried it but it makes sense....touch metal before you get out of the seat and you should be ok... Is it getting cold by you??

Its starting to cool down here. Just seemed like it started with the whole amp death. My ground is fine its sanded and really tight lock washer and everything. I got a shock when I grabbed my iPod out of the storage area in front of the shifter and its hooked into my head unit. Scared the crap out of me. I was cussing it pretty good. And my tires are only like a year old and it's happened right after I turned my car on so I wasn't driving or anything.

My car did it stock, and it still does it now... I grab the metal part of the door before I step out... then the static electricity dissipates through my foot instead of my hand.

You can add those antistatic staps to the underside of your car during the staticky season.
