New Stuff

Last weekend I had the Clifford 12.5X, http://www.al-eds.com/Clifford-Matrix125X-p16575.html an Alpine iDA-X100 http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=iDA-X100 installed in the Evofire, and also bought a 160 gig ipod to use with the head unit. Everything is GREAT! Now I just need to find some speakers. I am thinking som e6x9 subwoofers for the rear deck and I will be all set. I don't want a lot of bass, just more then the regualr speakers give me.....Anyone have any ideas?

Flip a dozen coins. You're going to get a dozen answers. Go out and listen to some sets.

Found something perfect for you...unfortunately I can't find a place in the states that sells them. They're the Genesis Profile 6x9s. And you'd only need about 200-300w of good power to run them. Also, they're designed to be an actual subwoofer, not just another speaker.

You can't listen to speakers online kid. Go to shops and listen.

Lol....find me a shop in the US that even sells those speakers and I'd love to listen to them. Realistically though, those are pretty much the only 6x9 subs still made...infinity, kicker, ma, and all the rest stopped making theirs.

You could also try looking for a 3-way component system and dropping the mids and tweets up front, and the mid bass in the rear deck. Not an optimal SQ situation, but a potential alternative to what you have now.

i'd advise on spending money on speakers up front where you are and not in back where your friends sit.

Nice Head unit,Cant go wrong with Alpine,The alarm is good but the remotes like to eat batteres,As far as good 6x9 there are lots out there,I would really recomed going to some shops and listen to them,Also to get better bass out of your rear deck,I would get the rear shelf dyamated,Will make a big differance,i am using the Alpine 6x9s and when I had them running off of deck power people thought I had a sub in the car..

Well, I am done with audio and electronics now.. To go with the Clifford alarm and Alpine head unit mentioned above, I have also purchased the following:

The speakers are Diamond Audio D6's.............Click Here

The speakers will just be for the front doors for now. The rears will be a simple add on later. I will also need to find another amp to power the front speakers.

The sub is a Diamond Audio D3 10inch.............Click Here

The amp is an Alpine MRP-M500.............Click Here

Got monster wires for everything. The Alpine will be for the sub.

i wouldnt even bother installing those front speakers until youve got an amp for them. the head unit you picked is nice (i have 2 of them), only problem is that they dont have a lot of options tuning wise. i wouldve thought that with all the space they saved by ditching the cd player they wouldve done better with the eq......

If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin

x2 the lack of tuning options is the exact reason why i got rid of my ida headunit for a cda model.

LOVELOVELOVE Diamonds. I might go with a single HX in my next setup.

There's a thin line to be crossed, when the upgrades to your vehicle increase your chance to get tickets by an amount exponential enough to stop worrying and build the fastest, loudest car you can.

your gonna get a million opinions if you ask like that. youd be better off showing us what you think, so we have an idea of you budget and can comment on that amp.

got everythying is except the 6.5 inch front speakers. it seems that they are too deep to fit in the front door. does anyone know if the 1997 door panels are different then the 2004 door panels....I have a 97 dash, and so i know the panels would fit, but I can recall if they are different at all, as far as depth and what not.
