Replacing factory 6Ω 6x9s with 4Ω 6x9s and a 400w SVC sub

I have decided to replace my factory Replacing factory 6Ω 6x9s with 4Ω 6x9s. I know that the ohm values do not match up but I snagged the replacements @ a big liquidation sale as well as a sub for $30.00. What do I need to do to take 4Ω speakers to 6Ω or will the factory head unit (non monsoon) be okay with 4Ω speakers? In addition, the subwoofer is a single voice coil and I am going to glass a enclosure into my trunk.

even though they are a cheaper brand, you may need to amplify them to get all the sound they can produce out of them.

The difference in ohms (resistence) will be OK, the 4 ohm speakers will play louder but due to the fact they can handle A LOT more than the factory speakers, if you crank it up they more than likely will be under-powered and not sound as clean as the factroy speakers did at the same volume.

Also, I know it may sound wierd, but you may actually LOSE some Bass from those compared to factory.

example: 10watts of power to a 10 watt speaker is GREAT - not the best but the speaker is getting what it need,

Take that same 10 watts of power and hook up a 200watt speaker. Now that speaker is only a fraction of the power it needs to perform at it's peak.

So yeah, in short they will WORK (as in play music) Wrok well is a different story. I say hook em up for now, then save for a Decent 4 ch amp.

You seem as if Audio is not the most important thing to you but you want it better than factory. If so, buy a decent pair of door speakers and hook em up to the factory radio, then use the 4ch amp to run the 6x9's on 2 channles and bridging the other 2 to hook up to your sub.

BTW, the Legacy products you bought were probably only worth a slight bit more than what you paid.

Ya I paid 30 for all of it together so cheap is not my concern atm. I am in college which = poor as hell lol. I could have bought an eclipse for $6000 but I needed a camera lens lol. Anyway there was a typo, the stocks are 8Ω and the sub is actually 500w. Where should I hook up the sub, what wires? I am used to helping friends who bought aftermarket stereos and harnesses.

Should I go mono or multi-channel and knock out power issues to the L and R Rears + Subs at once?

save time and money, get a 4ch and hook up the rear speakers and the sub as I said before.
