I feel so stupid having to ask this question but where is the BCM located on a 2000 Cav Z24..2.4 Automatic? I am a contractor by trade and cars is definitely not my strong point!!
Does it sit on the passenger side behind the front bumper? I want to try to disable the DRL.
One more question completely off topic from above but Is there not suppose to be some sort of light to light up the PRND12 on the floor shift? My daughter will get her license anytime now and I want to have everything in working order.
Ya, i knew that thread was there and I have looked it over several times but it is telling me where the BCM is for a 2003 and it states it is under the dash. Is mine also? Once I locate the BCM I should not have to much problem disabling the DRL.
since your car is automatic it will behind a, for lack of a better term, console thing for your transmission.
You'll have to cut the zip ties holding it in order to access the BCM.
It is under the dash, drivers side. basically right in front of the latch to pop the hood.
Are you talking behind the center console? Or in front of the hood release lever?
How about the other question I had asked? Anyone know about if the gear select should be Illuminated?
Under the dash behind the hood release. Look up and its on the firewall I presume
Thanks. That is a little more clear.
Do you know about the gear select illumination? My daughter will drive soon and , well, enough said!
If anyone lives in central Iowa, WATCH OUT!!, at least for a couple months!!
Her ROTC program has got her thinking she can do anything!
Well my car doesnt have any kind of illumination in the center console for the shifter. Theres indication in the gauge cluster so I just go off of that.
The gear select on the center console does not light up. At least mine doesn't. I can sympathize, it really pisses me off at when it's dark.
I've been contemplating just throwing an led hooked up to a switch in there just to light up everything BUT what gear you're in to fix that though.
Doesnt your cluster have a PRND321 on it that is lit up and shows what gear youre in?
No. My cluster does not have any gear select reading.
However, I now have a cluster from a sunfire I will be putting in this weekend so that may all change now.
I am not familiar at all with the sunfire cluster. I guess I will have to wait and see.
