Just starting my build, I have everything in but an amplifier and fuses/fuseblocks.
The victim:
The weapons:
2 18" Rd Audio Alpha V3's
The location:
Stinger voltage meter install
How it used to look.
Temporary finish, still going to make a wood piece to fill the gap, bondo and paint it. Just waiting till we start on the box and have the tools out to make a piece for it.
Resting voltage of stock battery, car off.
Upgraded my order from a 2200v2 to a 3250v2 which will put out about 3400 watts
Temporary second battery setup until I get my 3 others in.
Batteries will be bolted to the wall when its in.
Box will begin tomorrow.
anxious to see the carnage of these bad boys . . . . .
144db@38hz! It hurts so good !
Good boy for listening to me. Good luck and keep us posted.
Also you WILL need a bigger alt. The stocker barely held up my 1k watt system

Alphas sound damn good in a proper box. My buddy has a pair of 12 v3's on a 3250. They sound damn good and get loud as hell lol.
Keep us updated, this looks like it'll be a good build
If it's too loud then you're too old.
I laughed when you said 1/0 is huge.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

I did too. I started thinking of the 7 or 8 runs ive seen. No disrespect to your 3/0 Jeffrey.

No disrespect at all. The setup I have is just about equal to 3 full runs of 1/0

Small update, got this in the mail today.
My nice new coolermaster tower for my computer.
but wait.....
I found this inside....
Ignore my grimy finger prints
I dug a little deeper in the box and found this too
Box build will begin soon, just ran into some problems with the design I had made.
Is that all you're running? I'll be pushing more to my 4 channel than you are to your subs!!! J/K, keep the pics coming bro!

that is a very nice amp!!!! i love my T1500. birth sheet says it does 1800 wrms at 1 ohm. just love it. but my new SAZ-3000 does 3000+ wrms so it completely owns it. lol
keep the progress comin!!

My big amp which is 3400+ RMS is on preorder, I bought the rockford to hold me off until my amp is shipped to me. By the way this rockford is so nice, I love it.
11.16 cubes before displacement. about 10.1 cubes after displacement of subs and bracing.
Any thoughts on this type of port? Not sure exactly how to calculate it since the bottom half of the port is shorter than the top half, but I'm sure I can get it figured out. Or if anyone is willing to help me pm me.
Quote:
the 18's like 5 cubes each so 10 cube common chamber after displacement. They need 80-95 sq inch total of port opening to be low end monsters. i would tune at 30-34hz
I'm really delaying my build because I've had so many different ideas on boxes and I want to pick the best one before I start chopping up wood to only find out its not going to work.
If Anton PMs you, delete it immediately. I would go round port if you can fit it, if not we'll figure on a slot port somewhere.

Im thinking you would figure it like an l-port slot port. Your length would have to include that little bit of a turn down you have. But someone would have to back me up on that since Im not 100%.
wrong. you measure from the center of the vent. whats the demensions of that vent right there? I'll help you out.

Im going to build the main portion of the box first, then figure out what kind of port im exactly looking for. I do know it can only be 25x25x6 maximum, even tho I know I wont make it that big.

LOL, Round ports are out of the question, plus I've been told by numerous people that slot ports on walls are better.

Yeah the little bit of a turn down worries me.

There really are no dimensions of the vent, I just made this sketchup to show my general idea. The box will be 38w X 25t X 24d I'll then cut a square on top whatever size it needs to be and build the port off of it.
ok so you want to measure from the inside of the box, to teh middle of the vent so if the dimension are say 12" wide by 10" tall by 10 inches deep. you would measure from inside the box and if the mdf is .75" then the turn down length would be 5.75 and the other part of the vent would be 5" so you'd have a combo of 10.75 that make sense? if you need i can draw a picture.
