Hey everybody,
I'm knew to the car stereo world so please bear with me. I have an '04 Sunfire GT with the Monsoon system, it was pretty decent but I've decided I want some better sound quality from the speakers.
Not looking to have subs in the back or anything as I don't have room in the trunk with all the stuff I carry for work and in my current life. But I want something with a little more.
Would I be able to drop in two Alpine SPS-609 in the rear and two Alpine SPS-406 in the doors to replace the stock speakers? What other work would have to be done?

Any help is much appreciated.
There's a lot of information on Monsoon systems in the archives--I have the same system in my 2000 'Fire. From what I remember, simply replacing the Monsoon speakers with aftermarkets doesn't work out well. I seem to remember something "unique" about them and anything else won't sound right with the Monsoon amp. It's been a looooong time since I researched it; you might have to search through some very old posts.
