So, after blowing through a pair of the cheap plastic 6.5" speaker adapters that i have my fronts in, im wondering if id be better off just making myself an adapter out of half inch MDF or something, cuz these plastic ones seem cheap as @!#$, and dont hold together at all. I also feel like id get better response out of something thats held securely in place rather than something flimsy.
Lemme know if im totally off here, ive only just started kinda lookin into my own audio work

i made my own with plywood and fiberglass. easy as pie
MMMMMMM pie.
I took about ten minutes to cut a scrap piece of MDF up but I mean its not something I would go out and buy up a sheet for.
Do you guys have trouble with the mdf rotting over time since it would collect moisture in the doors. Do you guys use treated mdf or paint on some home depot sealer or something?

Get a spray can of rubberized undercoating and coat the ring with that.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
