Alpine Headunit- STRANGE problem.. Anyone else?

Hey all,

Just something I have been experiencing for awhile now.. Usually just shrug it off, but coming from an electronics background- this doesnt make any sense to me at all..
I wanted to see if anyone else has ever had an experience with this..

I have an Alpine CDA-7998 headunit. Love this radio !! Its a DIN & 1/2 faceplate in a single DIN slot.. Pretty sweet.
CDA-7998

Aaaanyway, the problem I having is:
After reprogramming several radio stations on the presets, I find that they change back to thier previous setting after a few days.. It will work fine all that day, the next day.. but later in the week, the preset will revert back to the previous station.. Not like a factory preset, just the old preset that I used previously..

The same goes for the Media Xpander settings.. I always change the MX level to 2 & hit the button to store it. It will stay like that for days, then I'll notice the audio sounding a little flat & sure enough- the MX setting has changed back to OFF.

I can't explain why a radio would change back to old settings.. I could understand if the radio just lost everything, but somehow it manages to change the presets back to the previous one..

Anybody ever come across anything like this before??

Thanks !!
_marc

That's unusual. A bad ground could cause strange problems, although I've never seen that specific issue.
