OK, I bought a cheep Ebay Tach "X tune". I'll install it today.
Hopefully it will work lol.

ok it a piece of sh!t.
it works kind of
at idle ok
rev it up while not moving ok it's kind of slow to respond.
works ok while driving
does not work when I stomp the gas it tachs out at 10000RPMs and and bounces around.
If anyone has this piece let me know how yours works maybe i have it hooked up wrong or something.
we need info. year, engine, how you hooked it up, what you set it to etc.
car audio noob since 1984.
my engine is out of an Alero 3400 2.2 3.4 swap 5 speed.
I used the #8 wire from the computer on the blue connector, it is purple and white. I tide in to the power from my Radio hook up as well as the ground.
Are these tachs usually good?

just to clarify I may have other electrical problems in my car. so before I continue to question this tachs usefulness I'll figure out what's ailing the whole car electrically.
For anyone that was following this thread, LOL
I found my electrical problem to be an injector wire. I had to run a new wire from the computer to the injector connector and now my cheap Ebay tach works perfect!!! I'm so happy!!!
Oh and my car runs better then ever!
