One thing to look for are the ball and spring manual boost controllers. My suggestion is to buy a name brand one, and not one that's thrown together with Home Depot parts. The better option is an electronic boost controller tho... Just don't be surprised if your boost levels spike up to 18+ psi if you use the mbc.
http://www.joepmbc.com/mbc.html I have heard some good stuff about there boost controllers. And remember the downside with the in cab bs with the manual ones is kinking the line and also because its so long you could have spike problems or even more lag.
