Hahn 2200 Kit
Wednesday, April 05, 2006 10:27 AM
Well, i finaly have the kit in my hands. Overall it was a good experience with hahn, the kit got here a little late so i didnt get to install when i wanted to, but my requested date only gave them 2 weeks to deliever and they almost pulled it off. They have been really helpfull. When the kit shipped(less than 3 weeks after order date) it was missing the oil dipstick tube and instructions(I knew these would be missing) and also the breather and air filter. The oil dipstick and instructions came 2 days later and once i realized that the air filters were missing i droped hahn a call and with no questioning of any kind, they sent out both the filters and they came from hahn to az in 4 days. I just got some pics of the kit, so i'll post those when i get home in a couple mins. It's going on this weekend so i will post up a full build guide with tons of high res pics.

Sweet. Will that work with the pre 98 if one were to modify the charge pipe where it enters the TB? And what's up with that intercooler? It kind of looks like a water to air cooler.

No, it will only work with the 2200...The biggest prob that i know of is the injectores. That is the biggest reason Hahn has not released a pre 98 kit and prob the reason they are not going to.

Not sure what you mean about the intercooler...its a standard air to air

I'm not sweating the injectors. I've been looking at a custom intake manifold but I can machine the lower manifold to accept a 2200 rail easier. I've seen other attempts on this site and one problem has been the throttle pulley won't clear the 2200 rail when it's installed. I happen to know a machinist that can make me a spacer to allow the throttle to open all the way. I'm just curious if the turbo manifold itself will line up with the exhaust ports on a pre 2200 version. If it will everything else should be a cinch.

The manifold should line up just fine.

The thing I was getting at with the look of the intercooler was looking in the picture it isn't the typical bar and plate design like you get from Vibrant and Spearco, places like that. It looked more like a water cooled unit, no fins you typically see.

You don't see the fins because he took a top down picture. Even Air-to-Water Intercoolers have fins.

It will not line up on a 95-97 2.2 .

32# Accel IIRC. Do a search on SummitRacing.com and they should be easy as hell to find.

Wow...sorry about the down time! The install went fairly smooth. I had some other @!#$ go wrong during the install not having to do with the car so i ended up taking a step away and that turned into a night.....this just so happen to be right before i put the high temp silicon on the mating surfaces of the turbo and manifold...

Consequently, i now have an exhaust leak and low boost....so im guessing the silicon had set by the time i had a chance to bolt the 2 together...should have started fresh...owell now i gota take it apart again!

But here are some photos and what not to hold you guys over!

FUEL

Fuel rail with stock pressure reg off and the new adapter from Hahn installed

Stock Injector Harness

New harness that needed to be spliced in to connect up the Accel Injectores(thx for that one eric!)

A pic of the fuel return line all set to go
Intercooler

Here is a top down pic to give you an idea where the T-adapter for the turbo oil inlet is installed into the block. On the top of the T is the stock pressure sender unit and the side is where you would normaley connect your line for the tubo inlet. Sience i was also installing a oil press gauge i ran the braided house to another T near the stock battery and then installed the turbo inlet line and the Gauge pressure sended to that.

Here is a pic of who the line from the back of the Block is routed

Well thats all i have time for now...should have another update early next week! If anyone has any questions just let me know!

nice! how much did thekit run you? I'm looking to turbo my 2200 by next year hopefully.

no more cavy...now 240 =]

I see a cool-air intake
It's got a NOS-fogger system and a T-4 turbo
I see an A.I.C. controller
It has direct port nitrous injection
Yeah, a stand-alone fuel management system
...Not a bad way to spend $10,000

Wow, thats one thing you can count on from hahn fit and finish. I wish my old homemade one looked that clean.

Awesome bro, only suggestion i have....

is to point the screw part of the clamp down towards the ground so if you ever have to get to them for some kind of maintenance, you can get to them a lot easier. Thinking of little stuff like that ahead of time saves you some major headaches down the road when the bumpers back on and you have to take the pipe off or something.

Wait, Wait, Wait.....Hahn now makes a Turbo kit for the 2200? Or was this specially put together for you? If they make a kit screw peicing @!#$ together, I'm saving for this!!!!

Now suscribed as well!
