Ok, I put a custom turbo myself with the help of CFT and Xtremeboost in Orlando, fl. The thing is smoking but I can figure why. I have a ld9 stock internals and fuel. Im only runing 3 pounds for now until I put some injectors. The thing is, I thought it was the turbo so I went and change the bearings but It wasnt that. So I reduced the oil pressure on the line and I still smoke. The things that shock me is that it only smoke when Im in gear not on nuetral. I could be at 3000 rpm on third and decelerating it starts smoking but if I accelerate just a bit or put the car on neutral and let it coast down it stops the smoke. But if I push it real hard It starts smoking again. Could it be that I am still putting to much oil pressure on the turbo or any other suggestion. Please help, I dont want to go back to cft or xtremeboost, I bodered them alot already.
PS Is white (oil) smoke. thanks again
boost with no fuel mods = bye bye engine.
NEVER EVER run boost on a stock fuel system. Even if it's 1 psi.
You probably burn the rings. Check your compression. it will be all over the palce.

I'd say he hit the nail on the head...
then again if you only changed the bearings in the turbo the seals could still be bad

Hold up White smoke is coolant, Blue smoke is oil, Black is running to rich. I am sure there is no way you are experiencing runninig to rich. Figure out what color smoke it is and let us know. If it truley is white smoke you might have a blown head gasket in wich case you might have oil in your antifreeze or vice versa.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
alot of people confuse the BLUE oil smoke with WHITE moisture soke

Try to make my Ho understand that. White smoke from oil.

ge_forcez22 thanks It was the crank vent I still had it hook up, If someone didnt mention it I would never thought about it. I took it out after taking the crank vent and not a single "puff" of smoke. thanks again to all of you.
hey man, i live in tampa and i'll be boosting my ld9 in the next few months. I know you don't really have any fuel mods (even an fmu, which is the main thing i'd like to look at) but mabye one afternoon do you think i could mabye drive up there and take a look under your hood to check things out? I'm around your age too so thats cool. Just kinda wanna look at your vacuum tees and chargepiping. Just to really get an idea of it all/. e-mail me at phealinphine69@yahoo.com to talk more about it i guess.
