Whats a better turbo.............

What is a better turbo for a 2.4 ld9? Right now I am running a .42 a/r compressor with .48 a/r Turbine internally gated to 12psi. Would a .50 a/r compressor .63 a/r turbine give more lag? I am asking for experienced answers. Thank you

I little lag, noticable... yes.... but like zomfg lag no... you will also feel a stronger pull top end, I know I did when I went from .48 ar to .63, I noticed a nice gain in top end pull.

but eys lag will increase somewhat but not so much that you get lag every time you shift during a race, you should still have full boost by 3500 rpms. I do on a 2.2 ecotec and have a smaller engine

that is what I just got, I am putting it on aug.23/34 when I get home from work. t3/to4b .063 turbine, 0.50 compressor 50trim, the B would be better on a 2.4 below 12ish PSI, E would be more effiecent above those numbers from the research I have done. Not to say "this is the only view" but that is what I have found, and I will post when I get it all in at the end of aug, I can send yuoa video too.

I got mine on ebay for 400 USD shipped, with water cool.

I'd deffinatly go with the .63 turbine if you are trying to make any real power (over 230whp). A .48 turbine is pretty small on a 2.4L and will choke top end power drasticly compared to a .63.

Turbo lag has more to do with turbine size than it does with compressor size because turbine wheels are much heavier than compressor wheels. So going with a larger a/r turbine will most deffinatly add lag.

What you need to decide is if a little more lag is worth more top end power. I've seen dyno results of gaining 50whp just from switching from a .48 a/r turbine housing up to a .63 with no other changes, of corse that was on a motor already putting down over 350whp.
