Wednesday, November 22, 2006 6:30 AM
Alright This is what all I have, some will affect boost, others are just things I picked up on the way.
All new gaskets(head gasket, all the exhaust, intake and wastegate gaskets)
Ported/Polished head
Shaved head .004
38mm Wastegate w/ Atmospheric dump
Log Mani on a .48/.42 T3/T4 w/external WG
2.5" ID Downpipe
Vacume Mani Inline with Brake Vac
FPR
Intercooled(FMIC)
50mm BOV SSQV
NGK Iridium Plugs

Stock Injectors and Pump(looking for a deal on an upgrade)
Also Looking for an Cartech FMU

With the currentSetup what should I be safe boosting/ Ive read around an Im getting 7-8PSI in some places but 5-6 in others

Thanks as always!

with stock injector 3psi maximum!! dont go with more boost or you gonna burn a piston and broke your engine... use a piggy back or upgrade injectors and buy hptuner!

Nah Im a honda hater, no offence to you.

but I hope your kidding when you say no boost because im FAR from the only person boosing on stock fuel.

i want injectors and a pump, just no $ at the moment,

You could be helpfull and suggest some injectors and a pump.

I'm running on a stock injector running 9psi.. then again mine is not a mfi car either. my injector has a very high impetence to begin with. 10:1 FMU with stock fuel pump running fine so far, but I dont beat on my car at all. actually I've had boost over a year now and havn't floord it yet. (except on the dyno)

**changes are here**

ok so heres a story for u........

buddy of mine had stock motor and had valves replaced with stainless...now he ran 5 psi on stock fuel....it was cool.....seemed pretty fast...picked up quick.....then came the knock......and from there his car went straight to hell....he went lean one day and the motor locked up.....

yea so if ur gonna boost go to a junkyard and find an HO motor....pull the injectors they are 33lbs....or from a 93-95 Ford Stang(i believe) which are brown tops(38lbs) and i kno theres a few other cars that have injectors that are Plug and play.....and those injectors shouldnt cost u much at all

Well first off ... i could careless if your a honda hater . But thanks?

And if you dont have all the money neccasary for PROPER turbo kit .. then you shouldnt be doing it honestly.

and i know you aren't the only person using the stock pump/injectors ... but that doesnt mean its right ... does it?

Boosting on stock fuel injectors and stock fuel pump , is a bad idea.

I did give you a suggestion with my first post ... 0 psi.
Get it all done right the first time, so you dont do something wrong and blow the car up.

Some people have run the stock fuel pump with much success. But as far as stock injectors go, no way. At the VERY least you're going to need an FMU and some larger injectors. Like someone said for that much boost some ford red or brown tops should do you nice.

But until then listen to Jersey Kid. Stock injectors=0 psi.

im on the stock pump getting alot of fuel cut in the top of 2nd gear and i only have the 2.6 pulley and 350cc injectors, i gotta drop the tank one of these days and put in my 4.3 blazer pump.

Hmmm maybe I'm reading wrong...

No FMU.. stock pump.. Stock injectors?

I'll have to agree. 0 psi.

Furthermore, what are you using to pull timing with boost?

What do you mean No FMU, Read my 1st post, right after the pics, Im looking for a cartech, either that or how does the OBX 10:1 do? Id rather the adjustability from the cartech.

I have the money, its just going other places, take a look at the ar lol, I have ALOT of other things I need to have runnign this season. I dont want to ghetto it up, thats why it hasent ben driven in 11 months, ive been collection parts.

I was just hopiong i could run stock injectors just like several others do.

i know his car will take mine, I can boost 8PSI all day with my current setup and im shure most of the N/A on here ill take me, its a 50/50 car show and go, that means its only gonna go so fast.

Now After I boost the mazda Ill take a race

Now to the suggestions for injectors, a HO?(High Output?) motor? Ill Buy New injectors if Its best, Someone just tell me where and how much, I dont need the best because Like I said Its not a race car.

Timing, At what boost do I need to do timing adjustments, And what would be my best route to do this?

Thanks for the help guys, sorry if I came off as a know it all or coccy or anything not cool, just aggrivated because its been one thing after anothr with the engine and im ready to just drive it, around the block or down the track I dont care.

Ho injectors are no good with an FMU. They clip at 60psi so you can't do much with them.

First thing to buy in a turbo kit, the injectors. Stock injectors can't put enough fuel for boost. Stock computer and bigger injectors won't work with boost. You'll still run lean.

Exactly what Gilles said. I broke my motor in on stock injectors and even with an FMU they were lean at 4 psi passing 4000 rpm. I really don't recommend it.

As for waht you can put in there, I really have no idea I dont' know a tremendous amount about the 2.2 to give you advice about replacement parts.

Good luck though.

Do you know what VTEC is? Anyways, I'm glad your gettin close to being able to drive this thing again. Good luck with your bids. Keep the progress pics comin like you used to.

Ill take VVTL-I over Vtec any day

lol sorry

Well I just got her running, let it run 15-so min, no leaks that i can see, runs a little warmenr than usual but not overheating, drove it around the yard lightly and everything seems to be good, did find one vacuum leak but its just a cracked fitting on my vac mani. Ill pick a new one up tommrow.

So looking around I found:
Ford injectors $25
Cartech FMU $150 new
MSD DIS 2- $330 shipped

Anything else?

Now also What am I safe running AFTER these Mods? Ill look into a Fuel Pump later on, But I have to fix the front end still from th horrible accident i had a few months ago, I have to also cut up the hood and do quite a bit to it to make it match up with the headlights.

then I gotta Do the Porche tail conversion still.

And Pics after DRIVING it out of the Shop!
