Anyways. i get the injectors and put them in my car, "the harness dont fit" so i had to get different clips with cables or harness that would clip to the injectors, so i got some DSM "96 Eclipse" that the clip actually fit the injectors so i got them and i added "splice" them to the cavi harness. well so far so good, when i finished putting them on i turn the switch on my ignition and i heard the fuel pump working But i heard it longer than usual, when i Started the car my engine sounded really loud and it sounded like if it would die and then a lot of gas was given to it, I looked in the engine and A LOT of smoke was coming out of the back of the engine where the manifold is, i looked and i saw a sort of Black liquid on my manifold and by the downpipe, i turn the car off and i tried to see if i somethink was broken or something burned, I saw nothing, I turned the car on again and same thing happend, more black stuff was spilled into the turbo manifold and it kinda look like
a melted black plastic but it smelled a bit like gas and oil. there was no gas leaks on the injectors and the harness was connected fine. one thing i did notice tho is that the dsm harness was thicker than the ones i had, i dont know whats going on or what i did wrong,
DOES ANYBODY KNOWS WHAT WOULD BE WRONG WITH MY CAR????? DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG ??? OR WHAT SHOULD I TRY??? PLEASE
PLEASE PLEASE HELP A J-BODY OUT..... thanks.......
Camooon guys help me out.. please....
I hope you got the right impedance injectors for your car.
well did you adjust the base fuel pressure , or changed the injector size in the pcm using hp tuners ?
if not anything bigger than stock will start to cause problems , depending on the actual size you got , and the car you put them in came with
you just cant swap parts with out making other changes for them the rest of the system to accept them
To Keep it simple:
Your computer in your car is programmed to think you have xx sized injectors.
You go and put in larger injectors without telling the computer they are larger or at least trying to bring them down the same size as what it had.
You then start car... car expects you to have xx sized injectors and thinks it does and therefore applies the same % of fuel... unfortunately the larger injectors flow more fuel at the same % and the car runs rich.
When a car runs rich at idle it tends to smoke out of any leak on the exhaust side, heavy black smoke out of the tailpipe, the engine will shake heavily on its mounts trying to run as its struggling to deal with all this fuel....
So - basically you need to do more than put in bigger injectors... don't run the engine too much until you have figured out what you want to do, as running that rich likes to do more damage than you'd want.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
You doubled the size of the injectors, and expected it to run right?
You need to tune it, either using an AFPR (you'll have limited success), or HPT (will run like stock). The "black liquid" coming out of your exhaust is a fuel/water mixture soaked in carbon. Yes, it is dangerous and flammable, especially when the manifold gets hot. You wouldn't be the first one around here to start their car on fire.
