Ok im ordering rods, pistons, gasket, arp studs soon.... But i see the diff sizes in Cometic gaskets, since im boring my block .020 which gasket would fit me best?? I tried searching but to no prevail.

Im puttin in the weisco 8.9:1 pistons and i dont see a need to drop compression any lower so which gasket should i go with?

Aaron, not to steal sales from you but ben take ym advice and use the stock MLS gasket, Suncavi and myself are both using them and him at 25 psi. He and several other people had problems with cometic gaskets leaking in between the cylinders...

I will personally say do not use the 0.030 thickness one. I just ordered a 0.074 from a local shop, I will post results on that in about 2 weeks.

those wiseco dish pistons are the perfect way to lower your compression, using a head gasket to do it is not a great idea, so by using something as close to stock you should be just fine.

QBE - those gasket that are leaking did the guys use any copper seal or did they just put them on dry?

For the bore just get the 87mm one. It'll be fine even with a .020 overbore.

so even with the +20 thou the stock one is large enough?? I did a quick calculation and I think the gasket is still larger than the bore, so it should be all good.

Even with a .030 overbore the stock gasket bore is plenty big enough.

Who all has had issues with the cometic?!

cometic are MLS gaskets... there should be no way to blow them out... this is the first I have heard of it. If they blow out I wonder if something was installed incorrectly.. because the gasket itself will not be destoryed.

I've never had a problem with mine....although everyone KNOWS SOMEONE who has but has never had it happen themselves. Sounds like a bunch of he said/she said going on.
