The guy at the dyno shop is going to tune it for me. I have a wide band and he does also to check numbers on. As far as what all we end up doing i wont know until we see how far everything is off. I don't have HP tuners or any kind of stand alone Probably end up just mechanical unless its to far off then i got a MSD DISII and Apexi SAFC that i could put in.

Well I looked at your profile. You do not have much listed. I hope you are not still running the bosch 4's in the motor. How are you getting fuel? How much boost are you running? What size turbo? More info please. Also you siad you have a wideband, so what does it say?

The dis 2, unless programmable wont help you and the SAFC doesn't do a damn thing since the factory ECU will correct its corrections so that wont help either.

Well the DIS-2 ( if not programmable) can still retard timing based off RPM (which is not best, but is better than nothing). Also I think people with the 2.4's have gotten some decent success with the SAFC.

Are you guys saying stand alone is the only way to go, since your giving me a hard time? The plugs have been changed to NGK TR6 iridium ix.

No, or at least I'm not. I'm asking you what you have. Your profile does not tell us. You are talking about tuning but what do you have to tune? How are you getting fuel under boost? Honestly from you post so far it seems you have no clue what you are doing, and that could be a bad thing for your motor.

IF you look in my profile i have a cartech FMU for fuel. I also stated i am getting it tuned. I don't know nor do i have a dyno or knowledge to do it my self

John if you are referring to injectors I do have ford brown tops. They are not in the car though. The performance shop where i am taking it told me how much boost we can run before we start to have trouble with the injectors. So in other words if I cant get the boost to where i would like (shooting for 8 unless you guys think it can handle more 52,000mi all stock internals). I will change the injectors use the afpr to get my idle and possible install the SAFC. to help out with that. I am not trying to be a smarta55 but what else do I need for fuel?

Your right but when you gotta tune for 8psi on a factory J ecu the success of these add-ons are marginal at best.
The problem with the factory ecu is it doesn't understand/see boost. Your in the right direction with the FMU as before HPT and SC reflash that was the method of choice and should be able to tune for the boost your looking for. If you got the SC reflash with the 2bar map then your in business for 8psi no problem. The other way to do it which would be better yet would be to use HP Tuners and the natural progression from there would be a standalone.

Basically the SAFC, FMU, DIS 2, all that any of these add-ons do is fix effects but do nothing to solve the cause. The cause is a factory ecu which needs reprogramming for boost.

It sounds to me like your in the right direction for what your trying to accomplish, it wont be pretty but it will get the job done. (injectors, FMU, dis 2, SAFC, wideband)
Also, on a completely stock motor at 8 psi you should still see some decent life. Just make sure you stay away from boost spikes and detonation on a stock motor.
