Well i got the block all dissasembled... And when i inspected the head... ITS GOOD!!! w00t!!! So is the valves!!!!
Well it all must have happened so perfectly (well as perfect as an engine can go out)
As i suspected the ringland blew out on cyl number 3. In fact one chunk broke out as usual, but into 2 pieces. One piece went straight past the valve and the other jammed the valve open (causing the rocker to come out)
so NOTHING BOUNCED AROUND, all it did is one piece went by and the other jammed the valve open, but the head is perfect.
So, just in case im still ordering the ferrea valves and springs, and i will use some compound to reseat all the new valves.
But anyway, how cool is that? lol

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
I you be willing to bet money there is some bent valves, you just can see it. Valves can close but still be bent.

Ben,
Thats amazing to hear that no damage to the cly wall took place. I have taken a few ecotecs apart where piston # 2 or 3 have gone out (ring lands) and it took out the cly wall with it....
If your in need of some wiseco 8.9s stock bore I have a few sets in stock... e mail me.. I will see what magic I can pull for you for pricing.
ive seen a few come out ok , but check the that was held open , for scaring from the valve as well as the seat in the head
Dude, go buy a lotto ticket!
It would appear you got lucky but remember...if something seems too good to be true, odds are it is.
